It's simple... Grips IV or master pistoleer means pve ownage with buffs and muon.

first, huh? and second, what actually does it do? like ranged defense gives you .5% chance of them missing or something, so how does dodge work?

Im not a stat type of guy but... Dodge lets you dodge an attack and not get hit for that attack. You dodge alot in pve and pvp when you get pistol grips IV, and even more when Master pistoleer. Basically it gives you the ability to tank and solo things.

At pistoleer 4/0/4/4 with 20% aircake, health andaction buffs, muon and vasarian brandy I can kill just about any monster you through at me. I dodge enough to not get hit for the big damage and i have some medic to pick me up for that lost damage.

When there isn't a melee guy in the group, im the man to talk to.

First the game checks your opponents accuracy vs your melee/ranged defense to determine chance to hit. If the dice don't roll in your favor and you would get hit, it then checks to see if you dodge. If you dodge, you avoid 100% of the damage from the attack (but anything nasty like a state effect or a bleed sticks anyway, for some reason). You also do this annoying side step animation if you are standing. It interrupts your combat and stops you from running for about a half a second.

We told the developers that we had problems with the animation, and so did the Fencers. The patch notes for Publish 7 on Test Center say that they fixed the dodge animation for Fencers, but there is no mention of Pistoleers aside from the Republic Blaster cert being placed in the Novice Pistoleer box. I'm trying to find out if this is an oversight in the notes or an oversight in the update. I would have tested itfor you all, but I still don't have Correspondent Access on Test Center.

You cap at 125, but you can increase that to 150 with tapes. With tapes and pikata pie you should be dodging like crazy (unless you are stunned and intimidated).

Also, if you can blind your opponent, their accuracy goes way down which makes your dodge work more effectively.

So if u are capped at 150. How much will you dodge? can anyone break it down to out of 100 shots? Has anyone done the math or know?

We might have test figures for dodge testing in our FAQ stickied at the top. If we don't, I'm more than sure that the Fencer forum does because nothing stacks defenses quite like fencer, and they will likely have data there for people who are trying to make up their mind about dodge (like you).

Fencers also have dodge too if you didn't know.
