that is the question.
Should I start my main char as a marksman and take up pistoleer? I've heard its the most fast-paced of the ranged professions, yet i've also heard that it's mainly good for support in a group. I know that the new system stresses grouping, but would it be at all possible to at least get competent at pistols (get to novice pistoleer) without a group? Or is it the other way around...pistols need to group in the beginning, and get stronger at the end. Anyway, any advice on whether pistoleer would be a good profession to go for or if there's another that's easier to learn.
Thanks

PIstoleer is very quick in combat, you have to be able to put together combos in a very short space of time, whereas a riflemen will have several seconds between moves, pistoleers typically have a second or two to decide what to do.

Personally I've found that my role in a group as a Pistoleer is damage dealer and, becuase of the damage and the Hate system where mobs will attack the player that damages or heals the most, crowd control as well.

As a medic and a Pistoleer I frequently find myself taking the hate of mobs off of other players and managing those mobs.

Using Stopping shot and snares from other professions lets you pin a group of mobs down and deal with them at your leisure.

As for grinding, it's not much different to any other profession, and you can do it without a group if you want to.
