Thread: Getting Novice Pistoleer post-CU (add your strategies too)
I had a chat with a friend and he said L11 seemed high for 1413 Marksman so I checked my other basic combat boxes.
0010 Medic I knew about, but I forgot a few brawler boxes I picked up while I was messing about with all the free weapons you get as a newbie *coughs*
I dropped those and went down to L9 ![]()
This means
1) I get better XP for the L8 critters now... *cheers*
2) I can't use the scout blaster *jeers*
Bit of a mixed blessing really then, I suspect the one box of medic may be adding +1 to my level although that's unlikely. I don't want to drop that box though since I tend to use the heals after a fight now, rather than during and the XP takes ages to pick up...
I may drop to 0403 Marksman to see if the other two boxes make a difference (again - I played with the weapons - bad boy)
Mygeneral advice, post-CUis to only take the boxes you need until you get to the Novice box.

If you want to grind solo then you might want to look at getting a pet or combat droid to tank for you. Have a look on the bazaar for a bargain one.
It's a thought for this stage. Wonder how big an XP hit you take with pet/droid tanking these days?
I've never used a pet to tank - even when I was a BE and had a 6K HAM CL10 dewback
It always felt like I'd be 'cheating' to use him like that.
I enjoy a challenge *chuckles*

scout terrian neg and medic are a noobs best friend.
I know that the Scout line doesn't add to your level, no problems there.
If you took a lot of medic too early though, you might end up as messed up as my new toon was? *grins*
Novice Medic is a great help for downtime, but not much use in a fight unless you can somehow get enough breathing space for the healing cooldown period.
It's certainly a whole new game since they added this level stuff. ![]()
