Thread: Best pistol for a novice pistoleer?
Out of the pistols delivering the most damage, all of them that I've ever found are pigs on Special Action cost except for the Scout Blaster. My un-sliced Scout Blaster is at 45-109 dmg at 2.1 speed, and 11/23/11 special move costs, which is decent. I bought it for 5k creds. Actually, I bought 3 of them w/ the exact same stats.
It depends on what your hunting. I have a scout pistol that if all things were equal would always be the best do to its 1.3 speed but it is an energy damage pistol and there are some mobs that have strong defense against energy. If the mob has defenses against energy but not heat then I switch to my FWG5 pistol it has the best damage but is a little slower with a speed of 2.0. If the mob has good defenses against both heat and energy then I use my DX2 it is acid damagebut its stats are just a tad lower theneitherof the others.
If you want to know which damage types a mob is weak against just examine the mob from the radial menu.

good point. he said he was a novice tho, and most likely xp'ing up, like I am. I find it easier to stick to a few types of mobs that die pretty well vs my Scout Pistol since I solo most of the time around Lok.
Later, after I've finished my xp grind and am hunting for loot, I'll most likely carry the pistols that you've outlined. Thx for the input.
