Thread: Why does everyone think novice pistoleer is harder to advance than novice bh
1. Investigation is harder than any tree in pistols
2. Light lightning cannon is harder than any tree in pistols
3. I will also mention prereqs are harder for bh compared to pistoleer
In closing ONLY those who take the bh pistol tree are the exception to this rule and lets face it most of them will end up taking pistoleer anyways. I repeat your fellow pistoleers are going BH pistols as well, that amount of skill point usage should constitute at least some increase in their ability with a pistol. **edit** are you guys complaining about. Stopping shot is a 1 shot kill, you have a knockdown, you can spec smuggler and get a ranged knockdown, panic shot is also an awesome skill. Some of you need to do some research instead of whining.

Some people have though.. anyways i forgot to mention disarm shot2, aoe knockdown with decent damage. Please lets just stop talking about nerfing bounty hunters and i'll be happy.
It would help if they'd stop trolling the PISTOLEER board.
Ugh first off obviously you cannot compare BH TREE and Pistoleer... Only the Pistol tier on BH. Pistoleer uses ONLY pistol xp in the 3 tiers and comabt for last. It's totally different from BH, besides...
Pistol tree on BH is only relevent!!! Pistoleer is a filler, a companion proff. for another one or two. So BH and Pistoleers obivously do not compare. Rifleman and Pistoleer yeah, same type of deal.
Some BH's are really funny sometimes. You can't have any kind of discussion withouta ton of themjumping up and screaming DON'T NERF US. Easily the most insecure class in the game.
Nobody wants BH's nerfed. But everybody wants a base Master Pistoleer to be noticeably better than a base Master BH at using pistols. If BH pistol ability was lowered, thenI sure hope they would get something in compensation.
Now please quit clogging up the Pistoleer forum with arguments why you shouldn't be nerfed. We already know that.
That's not what people are saying.
What they are saying to me at least is that getting Bounty pistol 4 makes them about as good as a master pistoleer, so yeah, it takes far far less XP. You dont need carbine/investigation/LLC to take advantage of that. But our defense doesnt currently work, multi-target pistol doesnt work, BS3 seems to be = to body shot 2 which sounds bugged, and many folks aren't masters..they might change their minds once those things are in.
well, actually, to get to pistol IV in BH, you need to do several other things first...
get specialist in pistol of course.
get specialist in carbine.
get specialist in rifle.
get specialist in ranged support (combat xp for you pistoleers
)
get explore and hunting IV, which both use up scouting xp.
get trapping IV
get survival IV, and let me tell you this, that takes a very long, very boring time.
now, get 40k more combat xp, and you can finally train in novice bh.
pistoleer, only needs to get to spec pistol before starting in on the pistoleer tree, so ya see, the pistoleers are already well on the way to becoming a master pistoleer, long before the BH wannabe has even started in his chosen proffesion. you can't just compare BH to pistoleer tree, you have to look at what it takes to get there in the first place too.
ya, pistoleers need alot of pistol xp to advance. and i mean they need a crapload of xp. I forgot that ppl that want pistoleer master have 12 boxes to fill with just pistol xp.
also though, that really only takes about a week, 2 weeks max if you have a good group of freinds to consistantly hunt with. i'm not talking power leveling here either. i play for a couple hours in the evening - after work/before bed - and i usually get anywhere from 200k to 300k or better pistol xp a night.
it's not unusual for me to get at least one pistoleer box filled up, and a good start into the next one before i have to log. one night alone in a group of 8 freinds of mine, i got 250k xp in about 2 hours.
if you want to try and solo up to pistoleer master though, be prepared to see a few jedi's before ya get even 1/2 way there. that is going to take you forever.
I have been going for the BH pistolline after already getting half of the Pistoleer skills, and I agree that it's easier to get the BH pistol line. Most pistoleers already have Expert Ranged and most of the scout skills, so it's just a matter of getting Carbine and Rifle Specialist.
With good weapons, getting to Expert Carbine and Expert Rifle is a joke. It took me a couple of hours for both. Specialist is a bit of a grind, but I'll have both by tomorrow. Even those are easy if you have a pet.
Scouting is the easiest XP to get in the game, in my opinion. I have Explore IV, Hunting IV, Novice CH, and 30k extra XP. The only scouting that I need now is trapping, and you can get hundreds of trapping XP trowing the same trap over and over at a capper spineflap. Not hard. ![]()
The only bad thing about the BH route is it takes up more skill points ... I suspect that either BH pistol or pistoleer will be nerfed, which will help me decide which to drop when that becomes an issue. LOL

I am a Pistoleer/Bounty hunter, (Just need tactics 4, and special abilities 4 to master) And getting to bounty hunter was soo much cake. In fact if it wasn't for the stupid wilderness survival xp I would most likely be a master pistoleer, but the hours of just sitting inside of a camp and not taking more advantage of jax's b4 they fixxed em hurt. All in all the hardest thing about getting bounty hunter is the survival xp of the scout tree. 40k combat xp isn't hard to get if you play right. I can make 80k combat xp a day if I try. Bounty hunter is a great profession with lots of versatility. On a one on one pvp battle. Very rarely is a bounty hunter weaker. I mean they are on par with a master pistoleer by just doing the bounty hunter pistol line, they have great specials and the ability to attack each of the Ham pools. Bounty hunters are a great, fun profession. I just agree that pistoleers should be significantly better in pistols. Not better fighters in general, just better in pistols.
