Thread: how far up bh pistol would u really need to go?
if you master pistoleer, and climb up the bh pistol tree, do you really get anything worth while past eyeshot?
i could master investigation 4 now instead of just going to 3, or well go spend the points anywhere else, maybe diddle in lightnin cannon......
is there a cap to your pistol speed ? how bout accuracy?
thanks
Speed is capped at 1 so you can never get below a 1 speed. Accuracy is not capped as sitiuational changes running, target running, andvarious other things can effect your chance to hit. So on the bounty hunter tree you have specials but you also have speed and accuracy you can get. See below for the math on speed and accuracy:
BH Pistoleer Master Marksman
50 acc 40 acc 55 acc
50 speed 24 speed 30 speed
So if you take the full tree you have 145 acc 104 speed.
thanks reso!
been waiting for a solid response on that for like a week
Ok, here's a question regarding speed rating: I've heard that for every 10 pnts of spd, subtract .1 from the wpns spd. However, I've also heard some speculation that the speed bonus was instead percentile based. I've heard more of the former, but the latter would make some sense as with Rifle usage that a 55% speed bonus to using a rifle would greatly increase your rate of fire. Has anyone done a test like this yet that has their speed maxed for the pistol? Where they are actually measuring their firing rate by time to determine if it's percentile or simply a 10/.1 subtraction?
Not trying to derail the thread, I ask because if it's percentile based with a cap of no lower than 1 sec, then anything above 100 spd is a waste. Thanks for input in this.

It was pointed out that for fast pistols, the difference between the percentage and the 0.1 per 10 pts was slim, so it could be very misleading, while the guy posting the percentage based claim was using a rifle or some other weapon with a longer delay so that the percentage showed more clearly.
I THINK the percentage he posted was 5% for every 10 skill points, meaning a 50% speedup at 100 skill. For a "normal" pistol with a 1.7 to 2.5 delay, 5% for 10 skill points is .085 to .125 - very close to .1 (and I'm not sure of the specific pistols used in the 10 pts = 0.1 tests), so it's easy to see how it could be confusing.
Maybe one of these days I'll run some tests of my own and see if I can confuse things some more
