Ok, I'm going to try it this way since nobody has responded to my other post.

Is anybody here using an SR Combat Pistol or know of a Weaponsmith making them (on any server)

If you have seen them, what kinda stats & special damage do they do?

Ive been doing various pistol tests and in doing so Ive been trying to buy many pistols. The 2 master weaponsmiths on Bria responded with *not possible* when i asked them to make one. Another pistol im concerned about is the tangle pistol, especially if its the stun damage. That is the only other main damage type im missing. I am hoping its tangle that does stun since the gunlooks kinda weird but the stats are so horrible. I mean not even in comparison with dx2, fwg5, scatter.

If someone figures out which pistol does STUN damage please say so on here

Your so right about the Tangle's base stats... Looks almost like a CDEF stat wise. For a cert that comes available at the same time as FWGS it better have SOMETHING spiffy up it's sleave...

I was wondering about how it looks too, cold damage maybe? Or have you found another pistol that does that?

Wouldn't it just be demotivating if once these guns are craftable they just turn out to be junk?

I have seen the SR combat pistol. They look cool as hell but the one I saw the stats on it sucked, and special costs were insane. It also had a 4+ speed. I am guessing it was not made from the best comps though, I hope not at least.

SR Combat Pistol: (From the Prima Guide)

Armor rating 1

Damage type energy

Minimum possible damage31.5-58.5

Maximum possible damage 70-130

Base attack speed 4.875-3.375

Range mods 3.5 - 6.5(point blank) / -14 - -26(mid) / -56 - -104(max)

Wound chance 16.9-9.1

HAM costhealth 29.6-16.1

Ham cost action 46.8-25.2

Ham cost mind 16.9-9.1

So a well made and expermiented SR combat pistol can be 58-130 damage with a 3.3 speed and a HAM cost of 16H/25A/9M...not bad at all, plus they look cool as hell.

The other damage types are available on the DX2 (Acid), the FWG5 (Heat), Striker (Kinetic) and the Tangle (Stun).

Note that the SR Combat pistol is Armor Rating 1 while every other pistol is Armor Rating 0. So it should do double damage from what is listed compared to other pistols.

I am currently using an SR Combat pistol but I'm not as happy with it as I was with the scout. I found the power was good but if you can one shot it, you feel like you are waiting forever for the next one. From what I understand, the FWG5s made today can rival the scout so I'm going with one of those.

The Tangle and DX2 are very effective against certain types of armor but I don't think the benefits outweigh the penalties.

I hope better guns in the certification tree will get some kind of boost, because as of right now there is nothing better than Scout Blaster. I think it is unreasonable to have higher end guns with crappier stats.

Not to take over the post but what kind of damage does a Scout blaster do?

As for "there's nothing better than scout blasters," think again. I put my scout blaster on the shelf when I found my FWG5. It does tons more damage with a much faster attack speed.

Much faster attack speed? Did you have a semi decent scout?

My scout pistol was 1.7spd base (before slice or powerup).

I can't imagine an FWG5 being "much faster" than that.

D18: energy

DH17: energy

DL44: energy

DX2: acid

FWG5: heat

power5: energy

Scout: energy

Striker: energy

Striker Striker: kinetic

Tangle: stun (only armored protection against this is the shield generator)
