Okay the best weapon I could find on my server was a 59-117 1.7 scout blaster. I found a DH17 that did a little bit more damage but was a little slower and had much higher special moves cost. I found a DX2 but it didn't look like it did any more DPS, it had higher moves cost, and was like 3 times as expensive. The FWG was also more expensive and it also had higher costs to shoot and lower DPS.

I know the FWG pistol does heat damage and the DX2 does acid damage. Will some please explain to me what the point of that is if the overall DPS is lower and the special moves costs are higher? Is it just because people are going to have armor focusing on defense to energy? Was I just looking at a great scout blaster and crummy FWG's and DX2's?

I'd love to use something other than scout just because I'm a rifleman convert and I hate the -90 at max range on scout blasters and they just look whimpy. =)

Yes, the idea is that armor types and creatures have defense against and vulnerability to certain types of damage. Read the Armor Fundamentals feature for more info on this:

Some creatures have seem to have very high or total protection against certain datatypes. I heard that Dune Kimogilas are immune to heat damage and when I attack them with my FWG5 I get no experience.

As far as the quality of the DX2's is concerned, I understand that the quality of the resources needed to make them tends to be low, so they may get better when better resources spawn in your galaxies.

There is also a crafting bug that is affecting things like DX2s. So, we'll start seeing better DX2s when that is fixed and as the servers get the proper resources.
