First of all, youshould wear stun layered composite during ranged battles.Otherwise, you will takefull damage against rifleman using jawa ion rifles. Go all out and get 30% or higher stun protection. You'll need it, since jawa ion rifles are AP 1.
Also, you should consider usingan Imperial PSG (with high base resists, and sliced for effectiveness) and synthsteak (cuts down damage by 44% for 28 uses). This will cut down the sting of the first few high damage rifle attacks, and allow you to close in (if possible).
Don't be afraid to down a muon gold in combat. Chances are if you are taking heavy fire to your mind, you won't even get to the downer, but the muon gold will give you 15 more seconds to possibly take someone outbefore you die. Plus, if you die while using a spice, you can use another spice right away, whereas with food you'd have to wait for your stomach/drink timers to clear.
You should have at least an 800 in mind (base value). If you get dancer buffs, the value of the buff is based off your base mind value(pre-food, drink or anything else) so you want your base mind value to be high. You should also try to pump your focus/willpower, but I don't know the magic number for stats. When you get meditate 2 you can powerboost for an additional +50% mind (I think you can get the full 50% at meditate 2).
When you master pistoleer, your DPS goes up greatly. Use this link to find out exactly how much your damage increases:

Health shot 2 seems to be the health pool target attack of choice for many pistoleers, so I would use that. Panic shot is okay when you want to stop multiple targets but don't forget to use /peace afterwards since damage breaks the panic shot effect and allows the target to attack you again.
Geo pistols used to be awesome, but now everybody on Intrepid runs around in stun layered composite. Geo pistols take a 69.5% decrease in damage vs. people with 39% layered stun armor.Soyou may have to mix up your weapon choices to fit the situation. Sometimes a krayted republic blaster can be preferable to a geo pistol, depending the weapon stats, and the opponent's resists. You'll have to experiment and find out which gun works best against certain opponents.
If you need more advice on PvP'ing as a smuggler/pistoleer/tka on Intrepid, you should ask Geevo or Ecad about that. I don't PvP much anymore because I got tired of all the CM's.
If you're not a doctor (to cure poison/disease) or have some way of taking out a CM quickly (i.e. being a CM/rifleman) CMs are your worst nightmare.

forget health shot.
Stick with using last ditch.... mix it up with low blows and panic shots.
Don't forget about fanshot either though. more than once I've found myself in great posistions to use it. (which by the way should be used effectively by firing into large crowds of people). If you dont' have the large crowd to shoot at, last ditch it all the way.

All,
Right now I am a master smuggler, 3144 pistoleer, 0021 TKA. I hope to master pistoleer within 2 weeks. I am starting to do more PVP, but I suck. I am the cannon fodder, I have no idea what I am doing.
My character is a human, I normally have the standard 80% kinetic composite armor. I stock up onbrandy andcanapes to max mind. Haven't hit the muon gold yet. I have never migrated my stats. Typically I use a geo pistol in PVP assuming that sonic will get me the most bang for the buck.
Right now, I am down in 30-40 seconds top any time I pvp. My mind is always going, so I assume it is rifleman or bh getting me with headshot or eyeshot, or whatever the mind pool shot is.
All that I know to do is spam last ditch, maybe mix in a panic shot.
What should I be doing? I barely ever seem to scratch a ham bar. Should I only be using body shot2 or body shot 3 to concentrate dmg on one ham bar?
