Thread: accuracy while moving, pistol vs carbine vs rifle

Why is our accuracy while moving, the same as the carbineer +30 and a rifleman is a +10, all at master level. If anyone has ever tried to shoot a rifle while moving, it is impossible to aim, thereforea master should have a moving accuracy of -50. The carbine is a little easier to aim while moving but still difficult, accuracy should be -10.

Pistol is much smaller weapon and much easier to aim on the move, keep it at +30.


Moving and shooting should be a strong point for pistoleers, but currently we share the skill with carbines and they do a lot more damage.

This is just 1 of the 1000 reasons they are working on a combat revamp.


I don't know what they thought or what they were smoking or sniffing....but they really messed the combatprofessions up from day 1.


I remember when I first started playing and I had my cdef rifle. Running and gunning down womp rats with it, holding it with one hand. Never touched a rifle again.

Hehe... all joking aside though, i remember seeing that and saying, "if that really was a rifle, it'd either rip your shoulder out of your socket or you'd just drop it if you tried to fire it like that.

Actually their accuracy is probably still negative...notice while moving your target modifiers go down...the +10 Master riflemen get just offsets that penalty somewhat...they are still taking a hit trying to move and shoot at the same time.

I always see negative 50 when moving. I could be right next to the mob and still get -50. I don't know if having skill tapes with accuracy while moving would change that number or not.

If it is a laser rifle it would have about the same recoil as your average torch.


laser = condensedlight

light = weightless

weightless = no inertia

no inertia = no recoil

Lol this point about weightless light made me laugh although it is logical--howeverphotons are not massless and their miniscule weight could cause recoiling for all we know since we don't know how the guns propel them. An interesting point, I'd love to hear them explain that one!

it can be justified more than hearing explosions and laser blasts in space...

hehe I don't know..I think it is pretty obvious the rebel and imperial ships have equipment that receives radio waves from the explosions and converts them into sounds, easily explained

Because -50 accuracy while moving while being a good idea, would make riflemen un-uber and we cant have that can we

Ok pistol munkeys, this why riflemen kick your ass...


You as a master pistoleer have maybe 7-15 ranged defense. Lets look at a rifleman's ranged defense +87. Lets look at a master riflemans's accuracy +160, At pointblank they have typical ranged modifiers of -70, off the t-21. So at pointblank they have like +90 to hit. Even at pointblank range they are going to shoot and hit more than you can shoot and hit them, at any range. The moving and shooting mods are broke, it all boils down to that ranged defense.
