First off, let me say I have been playing since release and have only about a month ago mastered pistoleer. I have not grinded through it but took my time doing other things such as quests, exploring POI's (before the POI tab),and rebel missions, and did it all mostly solo. How people grind it in a week is beyond me but that is left for another thread (SEE EXPLOITS)

I am overall very happy with being a pistoleer and do not want to give it up. I know we are weak in PVP and a lot of specials are broken, butfollowing is all I request from the DEV's. There is adefinite improvement when you get to master, and it should be after all the hard work, not many people realize howslowlyrequired combat xp isgained (especially slow if you are a pistoleer, hehe), so I am not complaining, butthe ride should also be made a little more fun.

1) Give Master Pistoleer a special more powerfull than the standard fanshot and stopping shot, which are the first ones most smart people get going up the tree. Simply make it as good or better than the BH specials available in the dirty fighting tree and there would be no need for dabbling in BH to be competitive. This would equalize both PVP and PVE combat and stop the class cross-breeding on both sides (because I don't think BH would have enough skill to master pistoleer and there would be no reason for a master pistoleer to get BH.)

2) At least make some of the lower level specials (i.e. broken) do something! They don't have to be uber, but at least add to the strategy and gameplay of a pistoleer. As said before, fanshot and stopping shot are pretty much all you need at the moment, but maybe have some specials do something unique that work in special combat situations, against animals, NPC's, anything at all!

Am currently working on mastering creature handler. You have no idea how many times those pets have saved my life. Even now, pistoleer in it's current state simply would not be an option without pets. Sure you could buff away, but personally I think buffs are for noobs. Again, to be fair, pistoleer may need to dabble a little to get ahead (don't needquite as manyskill pointsas BH, yadda yadda), but I am justsuggesting the tiny little bit of lovethat might even things out and make me and maybe a few of you happy.

Your story sounds very much like mine. After playing since launch, I only recently mastered pistoleer (with no CH, ever). My finished template went something like this: Master Marksman, Master Pistoleer, Master Scout, 0-0-0-0 Bounty Hunter, 2-1-0-2 Medic. It's not a bad game experience playing this, but I agree that pistoleer could use a few tweaks, mostly in the master box.

and mine.. but a touch longer..

I began Pistoleer about 3 weeks ago. Enjoying the hell out of it to be frank. I like seeing evidence of gaining skills (being hit less, hitting more often and more powerfully).. etc.

Currently, I am 2/3/4/2 Pist, 4/0/0/4 MM ( I believe), with some scouting. the rest is going towards the politician skills I need sadly. I do plan on mastering Pist and keeping it for the long haul.. good bad or ugly. All that combat XP just takes way to long to gain to just throw away.

I am confused as to why specials eat up so much mind however.. ouch. It might have something to do with using the DX2 (which i feel is great in NPC combat, but poor in PVP).. so I have a bit of experimenting to do.

Nearly every volley i send hits (in NPC Combat) for between 900-1800+.. which makes me love that fan shot. However I do not know if this is a good number comparativly to others in this profession.

As far as the exploiters go.. /report is your friend. I have absolutely no problem using /report in game whenever I see a medic, musician, dancer or Doc in the cantina doing the afk fish. Cheaters are the only thing that will bring this game down.. and they are ever so prevailant... effectively flaunting the fact they cheat.

Aye i have been a master pistoleer /bh pistol 4 for a very long time i would say 4-5 months if not longer . The spd and accuracy mods from bh pistol 4 is almost better then the pistoleer prof it's self. if you wanted to be good in PVP with pistols you needed to have bh pistol 2 at least for eye shot. but now with the new armors out with resists of 80% + and 39% stun ,all the defence bonuses that other prof's get, pistoleer is becominga wasted class with out a a decent armor peircing pistol , people that i have owned in the past now kill me b4 i can do enough DMG to say so even with republic blasters with over 400 max dmg and scatter pistols over 450 max dmg with out a better armor peircing i get owned like a noob.

pistoleer is a great class i love it and i hate to see it die like this even if we could duel weild pistolswith light armor peircing that would be a large improvement to are DPS in PVP.

when the geno pistol came out pistoleers where top notch not alot of ppl had stun armor at that time. now it is nothing but riflemen/fencers riflemen/combat medics riflemen/doctors riflemen/2handed sword , owning in PVP because they are the only ones with ranged heavy armor peircing . see a patern here with the riflemen .

well thats how the pistoleer proffesion is on intrepid right now i hope i am not the only one who feels this way thanx for reading my post
