Does /disarmingShot1 have any use? I've been trying to test new skills attained by dueling my friends and it doesn't seem to do anything...

It use to do double damage on lair, but that's been nerfed for whatever reason. So now it does a good old round nothing what-so-ever.

This does NOTHING. It doesn't even hit their weapon to REALLY take away from its condition stat?

The general consensus among Pistoleers is that Disarming Shot should at least inflict a state on the target, like Stun. As it is currently, it simply burns your HAM, and nothing more.


I thought all Pistoleers started playing SWG with their little R2 droid saying "...and the Pistoleer profession is the only profession where 90% of the special abilities don't work at all!", but maybe I'm wrong about that.


Personally, I think most of the currently worthless Pistoleer specials would be vastly improved if they simply added some state changes to them. Currently, Pistoleers really have no state change attacks (barring the melee-range knockdown, and health bleeds), and state changes are an extremely important part of combat in SWG.

Yah know, with the new weapon equip delays, having the target's weapon unequipped on a hit would actually be worth something. Not a whole heck of a lot, but something.

Sounds good Dirth, maybe have it take away a combat turn or two for our enemy. Make it so we have a hard chance of scoring a hit, so we can't just spam it and keep the opponant from getting a shot off at all.

I'm a Master Pistoleer, Smuggler and TKA and after mastering TKA I'm sad to say I simply don't have a use for pistoleer anymore. I'm keeping it because I've been pistoleer since launch and hope that once the CB comes it'll be worth my while, but for now, only weapon I use is a vibro knuckler.

Pistoleer has great defenses in the stances/grips line. That's the main reason I have it.

Also, due to the high resists some mobs have against kinetic (up to 100%!) you'd be nuts not to carry a weapon other than a VK. I found I do more damage on the corvette, for example, with a FWG5 than with a VK just because of the heat damage.

And it's never a bad idea to have a ranged weapon just in case.

Id like to see it actually knock your weapon out of your hand and caus eyou top reequip it, with a delay. But for nowm worthless is too good a word.
