Thread: DE-10, is it worth it? what should i do to get it?

Im master pistoleer/BH and im considering buying a DE-10.
1, is it worth the time/money? ive got some nice geos (2.4speed 300 max dmg w/o power up), is an upgrade to a DE-10 worth it?
2, what should i do, spend days running janta missions or, go to the bunker and camp npcs in hope of loot?
Im sure im speed capped, of course id use krayt tissues.

By the time you camp the loot at the bunker, it's flat out easier just to runmissions to pay for it (plus, you have the bonus of gaining exp, and the occasional crystal/rare loot.)
If you can get a group of friends to go to the DWB and hang out for a bit though, that might be your best option, just watch out for the SBD's... they're evil.

I enjoyed my first one which I paid 2.2 million for I started to look for a second when I say it deteriating. I but the Barrel and Schematic for the second for over a million and had a ws make it for me as a back up. It can pack a punch.

When you can hit for 2k to 3k
damage a second, things don't
tend to hang around long

yes it is....i think it is better than a geo pistol...the reason i say this is becasue DE-10 has AP 1 and usually see the DE-10 with a max damage of 300 unsliced...my buddy has one that is sliced and has a max of 400 and with a powerup it hits 500....i can hit a opponent with 700 damage with a 300 max damage one imagine what a 500+ max damage can do....Geo also has no AP, but alot of comp suits have a 37% resist to stun...my geo with a power up hit a 377 max damage...i can hit a opponent for about 500-600 points of damage so that should tell u how much AP means in this game...most suits are 80% resist to energy damage too...

UF it does matter, especially depending on the shot (since you're obviously using a special).
Lets look at raw numbers shall we?
Assuming the Target is AP0 with no resists to anything you would obviously pick a gun based on the damage range it lists. (Unless it has AP1, THEN you get a +25% bonus to damage)
On the other hand. Say you're shooting at someone in Composite armor (if we're guessing PvP) that's AP1. So the Geo that normally has a top range of 377 is cut to 188 or so. The DE-10 on the other hand maintains at 500 max damage (these are both using powerups of your choosing)
The Geo becomes 118 damage post 37% resist and the DE-10 drops from 500 to 100 (assuming the max 80% resist for composite but not for stun) Of course, this neglects the reality that eventually composite will max its resists at 50%. That moves the DE-10 upwards to 250.
Still, the Geonosian pistols will be good till then.

I'm also a BH/pistoleer, I say go for the DE10, but don't get rid of that geo either. The DE10 is not so much an upgrade, as it is another damage type... its a helluva lot better than a pub blaster. comparing a stun weapon to an energy weapon in this game is like apples and oranges. You should make sure youown the best apple and best orange available to you as a pistoleer, as well as maybe a pear =)

ok, so, it has AP 1, I know that, so its NOT effected bye composite armor?
