I've only played for two nights with the CU so I might be missing something. It now appears that there is no penalty for using armor once you achieve a master combat level. Pre CU there was always a trade off with using armor as the encumberances would lower your ability to regenerate health, action and mind. Keep in mind that I played 98% unbuffed (except for brandy) so there was an actual trade off. Don't get me wrong, I think its great that I can wear armor with no penalty at master but shouldn't there be some tactical choice between wearing armor or not? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Its really about the players choice.
I choose torun around killing NS and Black Sun (level 70-80) in my Green Gunsman Duster. Of course theres certain scernaios where I WOULD wear armor, but with the CU IBELIEVE thatarmor isn't much of a necessity, hell I could be wrong though.

I could be wrong but I thought that wearing armor slowed your rate of fire down anddecreases your accuracy. I haven't paid that much attention but it seemed to me that I ran slower wearing armor too. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I havn't done any testing but in the skill trees you get armor mitigation the higher you go untill eventually the negative effects for wearing armor reach zero.

Sliceing is bugged atm, but once it is fixed Improving one area of armor will make the other worse. So if you improve the stats of the armors protection the Enc will go down. I sliced a set of armor today and before I sliced it, i had 0% to all when I wore it. After I sliced I got Eff on all slices and now I have some -% to the modifiers.

I suppose the tactical choice here would be which type of armor to use for a given situation (kinetic-weighted vs. energy-weighted), assuming you have a template that allows wearing more than one kind of armor. The other tactical choice is deciding on a template that allows you to use the type of armor that you think will best match your playing style.
But you're right, I can see no reason for a master combat profession to not wear any armor at all.
