Thread: Pistoleer and Rifleman a good mix?
I was looking through all the bonusses added by the different professions and I was wondering what everyone thought.
First: Do the different bonuses (Def vs Ranged/Melee/Stun) stack with each other?

Yes, I got bored. Can anyone anser as to whether or not things stack like this? Also, the question about what exactly the 'Aim' bonus applies to? And as to whether the "While Standing/Moving" bonus is a stack or a replacement? I mean, if the standing and moving accuracy of the pistol added, that is a total of +150 if I am running vs. kneeling. Just does not seem right.
Ooh, and do attacks check against each defense? Like, does a shot first check against Cover, then Block, then Dodge, then Defense?
Is Counter-Attack a 'freebie' or does it take up a shot on the Qeue?
Sorry to add all of this, but I was just wondering if this was a viable option. Sure, it takes about all of my skillpoints, but Rifling something down and then running around/away from the sucker if it decides to charge.... sounds kind of cool to me. Also, all of the bonuses would be nice.

Defensive skills (Ranged / melee defense and defense vs stun/blind/KD/posture down/etc...) are currently disabled. They had a problem in beta with folks stacking up the defenses from different professions and becoming almost invincible. Afterwards defensive skills stopped working, so I think it's pretty obvious that they disabled them until they could fix the balance.
Ways to solve the problem include having the skills converge towards xxx effectiveness (some value less than 100%) instead of 100%, or making them separate so that you'd have pistol ranged defense, unarmed defense vs stun, etc... - so they wouldn't stack, but would instead depend upon what weapon you were using to determine which one took effect.
There are certainly more ways of doing it, and I have no idea what route they will go. They might even just remove them entirely from the game.
