Thread: Better Pistol user than a Master Pistoleer
I have seen a lot of people mention that BHs shouldnt be better at pistol than a pistoleer. While I don't think the mods make all that much difference, I do feel that BHs get some of the best skills Torso and Eye shot.
I made this post on another website, and thought I would post it here. It has a mixed template that calls for over 1 million less pistol xp, and appears to be far superior to a master pistoleer......
Master Marksman
Master Scout
Unarmed 4
Bounty Hunter Pistol 4
Novice Commando
Smuggler's Dirty Fighting 3
Pistoleer Expert Pistol Marksmanship and Intermediate Pistol Special abilities.
Here are the thoughts.
1. The bounty hunter has the best skill mods and the best ranged attacks. Eye shot and Torso Shot.
2. Novice commando gives you the Launcher Pistol cert.
3. Dirty Fighting 3 gives you low blow (ranged knockdown, i think)
4. Pistoleer skills grant you extra pistol mods, as well as Pistol Melee defense, a point blank knock down.
Imagine someone pulling out a 300 damage launcher pistol and shooting you from a distance to knock you down. They then hit you for crazy mind damage with this launcher pistol while they pistol whip your brawler friend that tries to help you.
I am actually not going this route, but i was hoping to get some feedback on my thoughts

I've seen some pretty nasty stats on launcher pistols, so I'd agree that your looking at some serious damage here. However, a clarification is in order: As I understand it, the Launcher Pistol is supposed to be a Heavy Weapon, not a pistol weapon. That's why it is currently bugged (right?)
what's to stop somone from bleedshot/healthshot you then run?
need some medical skills there, and with the 75% decrease in damage, i would be abale to heal the damage you do to me (minus mind shots) in a stimp.
just my thoughts.
Or just take bounty carbine 1 for underhand shot ranged knockdown and make a macro that switches weapons midfight.

You are correct. In fact, probably the only bone the devs threw the commandoes was that they will fix the launcher pistol to give heavy weapons exp instead of pistol exp. Not sure if they will also fix it so that pistol specials don't work or not.
