Thread: My pistol... What to slice on it?

I have a FWG5 pistol, 41-158 1.7 spd. I am looking to get it sliced in the near future and i was wondering what is the best stat to slice. Speed or Damage. I'm just looking at some suggestions from experienced pistoleers. I am recently new to the rank of pistoleer and only have 1 skill box in the profession.

Thanks

I think getting damage sliced would be best for that pistol. Just in case you didn't know though, it's random whether the smuggler slices the damage or the speed.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know it was random.

and for some reason, at least for me

when i have a high speed weapon, and i want it to slice the damage

it alway always slices the speed, ive gone thru 7 scout blasters, and allll the same

and vice versa on my fmg's

i always want the speed, and on 4 of them thus far its been on the damage

anyone else run into this?

Just a heads up, smugglers cannot choose what stat gets enhanced by slicing. It's either speed or damage for weapons, and encumberence or effectiveness for armor. If you're looking for a particular stat i suggest buying a few weapons fo the same type until you get a good slice. Alse you're gonna have to be luck on the first try

Oh WOW!

Now it could just be a funky coincidence, but I'm seeing the same thing:
My Scout pistols are always getting sliced for speed, and FWG5s for damage. I'm still trying to get a good scout pistol damage sliced.

Is this really a pattern or just two guys with bad luck?

I've run into the same situation. Gotmy Scout Blaster and my FWG5 sliced at the same time by the same slicer, and the Scout Blaster got the speed slice and the FWG5 got the damage slice. Now i'm not complaining cause my SB is 51-116 1.7sp and FWG 56-215(?) 2.0sp.

Checked last night. Both can be sliced either way - randomly. We've just had some bad runs of luck.

If I had a choice, I would always choose damage over speed (with pistols). Increasing speed means you will:

1. wear out the weapon faster

2. use more HAM

3. possibly go over the speed cap, which isn't going to help you.

Yeah I got a FWG5 sliced and I now have a 169dmg 1.5 speed fwg5 vs I think it was at like 2.2 speed.

I always try to buy two of the identical weapon and get them both sliced at the same time by the same person. Normally I always end up with one with the damage sliced, and one with the speed sliced. Try the both out for an hour or two, pick which one I like, sell the other for huge profit.
