Thread: Which Pistol discipline would you recommend?

First off I am aspiring to be a Master Carbineer because it is my favorite weapon and the blaster is my second. I want to master the carbine but wish to be skilled in the pistol as well. I wish to master one full discipline in the Pistoleer tree and would like thoughts from other Pistoleers. Keep in mind I will already have Master Carbineer and will use my pistol skills to basically mop up if they get too close (since the carbine is a mid range weapon). I was thinking of learning the Pistol Tactics discipline since it seems to focus on offensive attacks only.

I'm looking for the discipline that provides the most well balanced short range offensive power as that is what I will use my pistol skills for (if such a discipline exists)

Knockdown isn't needed (remember there is already one in the carbine tree)

Thank you in advance for our responses.

Stances and grips gives you 4 more specials, including the powerful Stopping Shot, and gives you bonuses to negative status effects such as stun and dizzy.

Special Abilities gives knockdown, which you don't care for, but it also it designed for close range, which you might want to consider. Also, this line gives you melee defense bonuses and pistol speed.

Tactics gives you 20 points in dodge, which could be useful too.

And Marksmanship makes you more accurate with all shots.

If I were you I would take Stances and Grips for the specials, but Special Abilities comes close since it gives you melee defense that will work even when you have a carbine equipped.

Dodge is nice but I have no idea how effecive 20 points is.

Yeah but the problem with special abilities is it works off of combat xp. . ugh. I'll have my hands full just filling the carbineer discipline that works on the same type of xp.

As far as power which specials are more powerful. The specials from stances and grips or tactics.

Thanks.

I don't know what disarming shot does but double tap shoots twice in one shot, and stopping shot hits for major damage. I don't have level 4 yet so I am unsure of the fan shot, but description says it shoots multiple bolts at one target. Only bad thing about this line IMO is that none of the specials hit aparticular HAM. Even though I can hit for over 1000 damage with stopping shot, I find myself using Torso shot ( average 600-700 damage for me) from BH Pistol line more often because it hits health bar every time.
