Thread: Pistol PvP template qestions

Here's my planned pvp template:


Master Marksman, Master Pistoleer, Master Brawler, Smuggler Low Blow, Novice Medic.


I figure that low blow is just too good to pass up. A ranged knockdown is great. I know we have disarming shot 2, the ranged AoE knockdown, but that will be fixed someday soon (hopefully) and I don't want to have to redo my skills when it does happen.



My questions are as follows:


1.) After the 75% pvp damage nerf, will stim-Bs from novice medic be enough to turn the tide of a battle if I use them every time the timer resets?


2.) Is a similar template with scout/bounty hunter instead of brawler/smuggler better for pvp? I would be able to get Eye Shot, more skill bonuses, and use the AR1 scatter pistol. I'm sure this is better currently, but once disarm shot 2 is fixed, I thinksmuggler will be better because a ranged knockdown is so nice.


3.) Will I be able to do well in PvP without having a mind damage attack? Or should I use bounty hunter for eye shot and the other bonuses...

once 75% dmg decrease hits i dont see how they accpect medics not to become god-like.


lets do the math.. take stop shot,, average of lets say 1000 dmg, 25% is 250dmg... ok if it does 250dmg every 3 seconds thats 750 dmg in 9 seconds... now i am a medic, a CM can heal once every 3 seconds for like 1000+ hps... do the math and you see that there is no way a medic would ever die in combat this way. and thats using probably the best attack available for pistoleers. i will agree, eye shot is super good. any attack that hits the mind pool will become extreemly good in pvp once 75%- comes into play.



nerf BH they shouldnt get anything but carbines anyways.. maybe they should only be allowed to use rocks as weapons, that would be good.

Why Master Marksman and Brawler? Those 2 basic professions provide virtually nothing except as a pre-requisite for advanced professions. I honestly cannot see any benefit to having Master Brawler, at least Master Marksman has some sort of miniscule pistol accuracy bonus. All you need for Smuggler is Unarmed 4 and Pistol 4 I think...I never really seriously thought about going there, so I could be wrong, but I think the only professions that require Master Marksman are Commando and BH. Frankly I think in any sort of mass PVP or even one-on-one fighting a BH w/ only Pistol 4 has a fair shot at beating that template, once you hit someone at 64 range w/ an Eyeshot, they have serious trouble returning fire, blind is one of the few useful status effects, and you guarantee it goes into an unhealable pool. I don't know about how good Low Blow is though, like its recharge time and how much HAM it's going to cost to chain that, could be important, and before the patch hits it's all speculation.

Knockdown, game over.


Increasing HAM costs so you can't spam KD is fine for fighting 10K rancors. It's completely irrelevant in PvP. KD is notspammed in PvP, it's used once then followed up by 1-2 damage shots and thats enough to kill anybody. And even if you have nothing but a single KD skill, you can still spam it at least 5KDs at the new costs.


What the new costs prevents is newbs who get novice, then pistolwhip, and then immediately fly to dathomir and start killing biznatches for 4k xp a pop (guilty).
