Thread: KD Does it work or not?

I was fighting enraged rancors the other night and used KD1 on them. (I had heard that KD2 was bugged). Sometimes it worked. Most of the time, it didn't. Any ideas as to why? Is there a sequence to use that makes it effective? I was about 4m away from the rancor when it did work but was really sporadic.

Anyone have a clue? Please don't say it's another broken special.

In order for the knockdown to work, you must still hit the target. So if you miss, the target is not knocked down...and even if you hit. if the target has Knockdown resistance (like we do) and Im sure rancors do you then have to get past that...

I dont think we should be able to pistolwhip rancors at our leisure...it should be harder than normal to knockdown big mobs....

PMD1 does work as intended (unlike alot of our specials) but some enemies do evade it, resist it and sometimes you miss. Just keep in mind if you do land it hitting PMD1 again will 'pop' the enemy to its feet instantly

WHat I use it for mostly is to strengthen my bleedingshot and torso shot (flame). When fired upon an enemy that has been knocked down, these status effects are increased greatly.

I pvp mostly, so the KD1 is useless against players. Its a weak-medium mob tool only.

I use my PMD1 to knock down an opponent, while knocked down I use Stopping shot a couple of times. The extra power of this is great. Except when I miss the stopping shot, which doesn't really make sense ....

PMD1 does work and I like to use it. I usually do a combo of PMD1-HS-FS-FS and repeat this sequence over and over.. sometimes I will throw in more HS at the end to key on the health bar... I personallyuse HS2 because I like the bleed but if you are trying to max xp use regular HS. I also have lowblow from the smuggler line (longer distance I believe than PMD1) and its nice.

ps. PMD1= pistol meele defence (pistoleer skill) , HS= health shot 1 or 2 (1 is marksmen, 2 is pistoleer), FS = fan shot (pistoleer tech 4) if you didnt know. Fan shot cones so if you dont mind aggroing (is that even a word) everything in front of you then this shot can be like magic.

lowblow is ALOT better... its like a normal rangede attack but it does knock down. And its more powerfull against big mobs ... the thing is i found out it works best the first time u KD the mob. If u try again the mob often resist the KD.

Wow! Thanks so much for this great information. It will really help me enjoy pistoleer much more. I've been feeling pretty weak lately especially after attempting the corvette.

I am a master pistoleer, using pistol skills to get through Investigation on BH.

I created a macro that kills and loots a Mark almost 100% of the time.

Something like this: /bleedingshot;/bleedingshot;/pistolmeleedefense1;/eyeshot;/eyeshot;/eyeshot;/eyeshot;/blah-blah-blah

If I hit with PistolMeleeDefense1 a single time, the marks are knocked down almost 100% of the time, and then eyeshot owns them in 2 or 3 shots if i'm using the right damage type. If I hit them a second time with it, they get right back up. So, limit yourself to a single PMD1 every once in a while to save yourself some grief.
