Hi, I'm somewhat new to this game. I currently have 0-1-2-1 in pistoleer and am having trouble fighting critters. I've got good armor, a full set of ubese and comp armor. I'm currently trying the comp armor and while I can take health hits from critters all it takes is a couple on my mind to incap me. I have read the faq's but still need some help. Any tips on what armor works well or what I should try with my stat migration would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

exactly what you need to do. Make sure you have some nice weapons also.

Yep, and I personally go with make your Mind stats as good as you can as health and action buffs are better than any mind buffs you can get.

Thanks for the advice, I already use buffs and drink the brandy maybe ill try to increase my mind more. I do have one more question though. If I pick up some skills that give me an added melee bonus will they work even when im wielding my pistol?

thanks again for everyone's help

What creatures are you having trouble with when youare buffed and on brandy. I hope your not trying to take out rancors or something... lol. Yoiu should have little problems fighting quenkers while buffed and on brandy.

melee mitigation and melee defense will work with any profession.

With a good composite armor and buffs, put all your stats in willpower and focus. My stats are 800 mind, 1100 willpower, 1100 focus and all the others are 400. With this there's even some times I don't even need to drink brandy.

Of course, when you got no buffs, you're helpless. I'm a master doc/master pistoleer so I don't have to worry about this.

I do fight rancors, mostly in groups of 4-6 and sometimes just me and another guy. I do fine when we have a tank, but I can't take more than 2-4 hits. I'm just wondering if I'll ever be able to solo, or do you have to be a melee or hybrid class to solo?

you can't be a pistoleer to solo much, unless you are also a BH or maybe smuggler...but you're going to do a lot better going with any melee class or with rifleman, or hell - even carbineer would be better. thanks to the ranged KDs.
