Thread: Pistol Packing Jedi, Teepo Paladins

Some of you may be familiar with the tale I'm about to spin. A lot of you might not. It comes from the older days of the Star Wars Roleplaying game, before there was a Wizards of the Coast at all. Bear with me.

So, once upon a time, there was a Twi'Lek Jedi Master by the name of Nars Teepo. He'd decided to forsake the almighty saber and forge a new tradition in his own path. Instead of the saber, he'd use guns and blasters! When proposing it to the Jedi Council, he was given an unanimous NO from the elders. Knowing himself to be no slave to the dark side, and unwilling to be made complacent by tradition, Nars Teepo went forth and came up with his own way. He never drew first. He never fired in anger. He went as far as using only a light pistol. He even took to wearing a helmet with the blast shield made opaque while doing his shooting. But above all, he never touched a lightsaber again.

Worried for their headstong Master, the council sent a force of Jedi to check up on him to make sure he hadn't let pride tempt him to the dark side of the force. They found Teepo to be quite in his right mind with no taint of evil about him. Some were even so moved by his ways that they stayed with him to study the ways of what Teepo eventually referred to as the Jedi Paladin. It's unknown really if Teepo may have coined the term. But those who followed his way eventually took to calling themselves Teepo Paladins. The Council was satisfied, if a little nervous that one of their own could produce so aberrant a tradition.

So... is this possible in SWG? unlike my normal habit, I'm asking without the slightest idea as to how you even become a jedi in SWG. What kinds of interesting plusses and abilities might a Jedi Gunfighter be able to bring to bear if threatened by evil or some aggro mob. Has anyone else considered this? Again, I've been gone six months so I don't know if it's been discussed or not. Have any of you that are familiar with the Teepo Tradition tried to emulate it in SWG? What are your thoughts?

While thats kool and all..... i think something like that is LAST in line, there is much more that needs to be said, but 5 stars for a good story

Even Star Wars movies dont like NGE....

Yoda: Twisted by the Dark Side, young SWG has become. The game we played, gone it is... Consumed by the NGE.
Mace Windu(us): The customers will decide SWG's fate.
Supreme Chancellor(Devs): I *am* the customers!
Tiggs wrote: NGE is here to stay.
C-3PO: [walking away] I feel so helpless.
"And so it is" said Bail Organa as he left.
So this is how liberty is crushed...... by the sound of Tiggs Paws.
"NGE your breaking my heart!" Cries Amidala

I'll miss being a TK

I oppose the NGE and support Holocron Shug and Q-3p0's dream of the way SWG should be!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, ?How can we do this and not make another EQ?? We didn?t want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we?ve created a system to make that happen."

I'd love to see jedi dabbling in combat professions as an option myself. I always thought it would be kinda cool to be a gun-slinging jedi.

all players will have force sensitivity after the next publish or two. forcepowers is rumored to be the main pool that special attacks will drain out of. thus, a force sensitive pistoleer will have an advantage in that he can use special attacks more often. so yes, this is very possible.

assuming thats how the new system ACTUALLY does work; its just a rumor a little birdy told me...
