I am marching up the pistoleer skill trees, and recently aquired 'FanShot'. I've seen mutilple Screenies of this attack in action and so stated the damage should be coned and carry over to mutiple enemies correct? That being the case it doesn't seem to be working for me. Here's my question.
In order for "Fanshot" to be effective and work properly do you...
A: Need to not have a specific enemy "Targeted" (highlighted).
B: Fanshot will work even if a specific mob enemy is "Targeted"...
Thanks.

Alright, you do need to have a enemy highlighted with any special. Unless you were attacked first, or the fighting just began, because you lose your target when you kill the enemy and your highlighter thingy(shutup i dont know the name of it lol) will still stay on the corpse, BUT, in order for fanshot to work properly with a mob is they have to be in line, sorta, they have to be around each other and not too far apart. If you see a group to kill, aim the one in the middle and if the others in the group are near the one in the middle, then they should be getting hit as well.

You do need to have an enemy targeted. Every MOB in the cone in front of you (good or bad) i.e. near the targeted enemy will get hit.
Best time to use fanshot is when your LOS cone only has mobs you want to fight in it and after you send a tank in to draw up your enemies. Once they are chewing on the tank, pick the strongest apponent as your target and mow them down with fanshot.
Another good time to use it is when a lot of MOBs are trying to kill you and you are Burst Running away.... You may drop a couple before they either disengage or catch up and kill you...

Yeah stormies seem to line up nicely for a good fanshot assault. I think I've taken down about 15 or so in about 20 seconds using fanshot. Chasing down the last one or two takes the longest.

I had trouble getting fan shot to work at first but now I just love it. I when and soloed the drall cave on corillia with it. It was a lot of fun hitting a bunch of critters all at the same time. After some experience using fan sot you will figure out how to use it and it will become your new best friend.
