This is the path I'm heading, please feel free to let me know what you think. Even flame away if you want...all advice is considered.


Master Pistoleer

Novice Commando

4/0/2/0 Fencer

0/3/0/4 Teras Kasi Artist


This gives you:

Defense vs -


Blind +60

Dizzy +55

Intimidate +10

Knockdown +70

Posture Change +50

Stun +55

Dodge +125

Melee Defense +178 (way over cap, I know)

Ranged Defense +136


And Certification for the Launcher Pistol.


The downside is Pistol Speed of only +79, so you gotta find +21 worth in clothing and armor attachments!


I might let the extra defenses of Fencer slide and go for the offensive punch of the Flamethrower tree instead...depends on how my playstyle goes. Would be cool to lay down those flame bleeds, then switch to the faster pistols!

i would drop some fencer or teras kasi and get smuggler dirty fighting line for the good specials


since your melee/ranged defense is WAY over cap, i would definately give up some of those skills for useful specials

I wish i had nearly that high of defenses, and anything you may want to adjust it to will be similar so that is a good place to start--switching to smuggler from commando for instance. I would be doing the same but I am trying to get a straight answer on stacking. I read a convincing post that dodge will only work with the corresponding weapon equipped. If that is true, it could be the same for all of those defenses, although I do think melee and ranged defenses stack.

The launcher pistol cert really isn't worth it unless you'll be taking on AT-ST's a lot. If you dropped the Commando and picked up Smuggler Dirty Fighting then you could drop all those wasted skills in Master Marksman and have a lot more to play with.

Just with Novice 'Mando you wont be able to do a lot. You'll have your FT sure, but you can only do the default attack with it. If you cant /flamesingle anything FTs are just loud and hit for ok dmg.

The Launcher Pistol wouldn't really be all that useful. It's only good vs turrets and AT-STs and for Pistoleers who want to level commando. For 28 less skill points, you could get Smuggler and all of Dirty fighting for some nice specials. You should probably drop some of TKA. You're way above the cap on Melee defense and a little above on Ranged, and 0/0/0/4 TKA gives you mostly Melee def and less Ranged. If you're plannign on primarily using pistols, I'd suggest dropping that TK line until you've reached the cap, getting Dirty Fighting, then use the rest of the skill points on something else.

Harness the power of lag for your pvp battles - use the launcher pistol. It may not do much damage but the infliction of lag upon another player is a wonderful treat. Expecially for melee guys - they'll have to overcome your lag to get you . . . lol. Oh the humanity!
