ok, my current template is master pistoleer, BH pistols, and TKA meditative tree. Would it be better to keep this or drop TKa and get the smuggler tree?

It matters if you want to shoot last ditch at the speed cap or heal your wounds. Its a matter of what type of player you are.

I was spectical before i got it, but it is an awesome shot for PvP and PvE. The huge damage AND the stun state are invaluable in both. Go for smuggler.

It has a 6x multiplier and that the highest multiplier out of all the specials for all combat professions(except jedi.. dont know what types of multipliers they get).

For PvP... Smuggler is better for offensive purposes. TKA would be better for healing your wounds and poisons/diseases after a fight. So basically Smug = better DURING a fight, TKA = better after a fight.
