Thread: Quick Pistoleer Question

My apologies if both of these questions are answered in the stickies...

I'm considering getting the pistol techniques tree for defenses and I was wondering would those defenses apply to me only when I have my pistol equipped or is that irrelevant?

Also, is the certification to use the Geo blaster obtained in the pistol techniques tree as well? I've heard it has.

Thanks for your help!

The defense does carry over. It's called stacking.

But unfortunatly skill stacking is said to be going away with the CURB. It isn't a fact that it is as the cap may just be lessened but more then likely it will be going away.

Until then though you can stack away, but remember the cap is 125. And I think the geo pistol is tech 2, yeah.

Damn, I had a feeling it was stacking. Well knowing its going to be useless eventually makes me want to drop pistolssince I never use pistols for combat since I'm a master swordsman.

Im more of a light grinder and it took me 3 weekends. if i were you i would go up the pistol tech tree first. Getting the pistols tree in BH was slightly easier with some pistol skills. But if you are a heavy grinder i can see you doing it in a week or two perhaps.

with all the speed and accuracy from bh pistols.. the rest of your xp will come stupidly fast.

as said above, go up the tech tree first, once you get fanshot, take your favorite scatter and head to the tusken fort (my fav place to grind pistoleer) or maybe there is a better area.. not sure.

go to the basement entrance, target the first tusken you see and start firing fanshot. Fanshot will hit everything in a cone, including things that are behind walls (bug). The great thing about this is you can agro 15-20 tuskens at once, and kill them all before they even reach you =)

Not sure what it's like on your server, but when i did pistoleer I played mostly in the evenings and there were very few people at the fort. Made for a very fast grind.

Your grind will go best if you have someone, or something to tank bigger stuff (say rancors for example), so that you can continue to use fanshot and hit everything at once (ala spin attacks)

once you have fanshot along with bh speed and accuracy, I wouldn't be surprised to hear you say you mastered pistoleer in 2-3 days
