Excellent...but only 8% have the Novice Commando? I thought it was a great idea, makes killing AT-STs and Stormies much easier...

Commando is nice to have for certain very limited circumstances (I'm rarely in a situation where I really feel I need one), but I can completely understand why so few pistoleers have it. Desperado and Rogue are far more useful, and a MP/Desperado/Rogue only has 12 skill points left over. While that is enough points to get Novice Commando, the points are probably better spent (until the CURB comes out, anyway) in something like Fencer (for better defenses). The better defenses would be useful in every battle. The launcher pistol is only useful in a very few of them. For those players who routinely fight blast-vulnerable targets though, Commando would be nice to have.

Hehe, thanks. I just wish there was some actual use for the results.

It just occurred to me that the reason the numbers are so similar for Master Marksman and Desperado is that MM is a prerequisite for Desperado. I bet there are very few pistoleers who bother to get Master Markman unless theyintend to use it to get to Desperado.

I just went back and edited my summary becauseI just now caught that at twoDesperados didn't list thatthey were also a Master Marksman. So that bumps up the numbers for Master Markman and changes the order of the results a bit.

Yar, nice work...

I once had Master Marksman and Master Pistoleer during hologrinding... it's pretty pointles, seeing as I have Ranged support anyway for CM...

+5 Pistol Speed

+10 Accuracy

Overcharge Shot 2

Made very little difference, so I'd say that a pistoleer with Master Marksman is only doing it to open the path to BH and Commando

You could pretty much remove it from your survey really..

Yeah, I considered combining them into a single category (BH/MM) after I had that revelation yesterday, but the poll was already finished so I just left it. There actually are some people who get MM and Pistoleer without getting BH Pistols. I was one of them when I first started playing this game. That is perferctly fine--you do get the bonuses to Pistol Speed & Accuracy, as well as Ranged & Melee Defense, and the Suppression Fire special. It's just a lot of skill points to invest though if you're not going to use it as a prerequisite for anything.

Supposedly, after the CURB, there will be more of a reason to have Master Markman as a profession in its own right. At least that's what I saw hinted at a while back.

But would 12 points be enough to get good fencer defenses?

Well, it's only enough to get Novice Fencer, but that alone would give you an additional +15 Dodge plus +15 Melee Defense. If you put the remaining 3 points into Force-Sensitive Melee Defense, you can add another +15 Melee Defense on top of that, bringing your total Melee Defense to +64 and your total Dodge to an impressive+105. That would personally be more valuable to me than being able to use a Launcher Pistol, but for some people the latter might be more useful. To each his own I suppose--it's all about how you most enjoy playing the game. If using a launcher pistol is huge fun for you and makes you a happy pistoleer, then it's definitely worth it to get Novice Commando instead.

I'd like to use a launcher, but it lags many people's computers. I would kinda feel bad about it...but meh, whatever.
