Thread: Stopping shot issue
It happens to me sometimes in PvE - usually in high lag situations. The target will take damamge from the stopping shot but the state won't land.
Mind you, I don't know what the actual chance of it sticking is - I'm sure it's not 100% so it's perfectly possible (if improbable) that it would fail to stick 3 times.
I've never experienced it not sticking if the target takes damage from, ie it doesn't miss.
Did you miss or did the root not stick?
If I really want to stick stopping shot then I'd drink some pyro for +200 accuracy then hit stopping shot. Works very well on Ancients.
With me, once in every 50 or so stopping shots, the shot will land but the state won't - usually when I really need it to stick ![]()
I've checked the combat log to make sure the shot did land and according to that it did.
But like I say, doesn't happen very often and only at the worst possible moment ![]()

As stated in the original post... the shots did land (as in they didn't miss), I also noticed he was buffed to the gills... is there a root resistance now?

There shouldn't be, I will have to test this. Thanks for the info.
If anyone else has experienced this issue please post with your info.
Well with double xp week I got drawn back into the FS grind and I must say that most specials, including stopping shot, do seem to have around a 10% chance of not sticking.
I especially noticed this with stopping shot as when it hit it rarely, if ever, failed to land the state. Over the weekend however, there were times when it was failing to stick up to 50%. I guess I could just have been extremely unlucky but it seems unlikely.
Times when it seemed most reluctant to stick were in high lag situations - combat spam would register the hit but the targets health would not drop until 2 or 3 seconds after the spam and the state would never apply (I also noticed with Advanced Critical sometimes combat spam would register the hit but the targets health would not drop, then some 10 seconds later targets health would drop by a huge amount).
Anyway, like I was saying - it would seem from about 20 hours worth of grinding that root from stopping shot fails to stick around 10% of the time on average.
