From a technology standpoint, this is great news. I have a feeling that dual-wielding for non-combat allowed them to test their technology to make sure things worked well. Up until now, it was one object wielded at a time. It takesdevelopment effort to add the ability to have two objects wielded at the same time. I have hopes that we will see dual-wielding for combat in the near future.

They were inappropriately posted for about 3 minutes. GarVa pulled them, but stated that they a) were official, and b) would be posted with some other information/changes later today.

why would you need to test the animations? the motion capture was done almost 2 years ago and every other MMOG already has this feature, man if SOE doesnt have the tech to put this in now, well thats kinda sad

Animations (motion capture) are completely different than hooking up actual objects to that data. The Jedi Revamp, Jump To Lightspeed, the Combat Upgrade, the Rage of the Wookies expansion, etc. are all reasons why this "trickled down" in priority.

It will happen. Or it won't. Try to be positive.

Personally speaking I don't mind if, at first, dual wielding doesn't give any extra damage to a target. I would be more than happy to get the looks sorted first then get the effects of haing 2 guns sorted at a later date. I cannot wait to see what I look like holding 2 intimidator pistols. I think that may live up to thier name.

On another note that you guys may like, I noticed in the Squad Leader forums on the fan fest feedback posted there that holsters may be making an appearence as well, although they have been said to be a clothing item rahter than functional but hey, works fine for me.

It does bode well indeed...

I haven't heard anything about it though.
