Thread: Piece of advice...get your Krayt weapons now
Ahh, what does it matter anyway. They are mostly dropping either nothing or jedi loot now anyway. Tissue drops are quite rare at this point. So yeah, they are spawning less, andin pairs, getting tougher and smarter, and not dropping much tissue, and even less so forexceptional tissue. Add to this the fact that tank pets are being neutered, and they are sending a significant non-verbal signal to us all. Don't bother.
Pretty soon CDEF weapons will become popular again as they will be about as effective as the other weapons due to resource droughts and nerfs.
Sorry, was I waxing sarcastic again?
Well, on the bright side... at least the 0.0001 percent of the server population that will become jedi will be well stocked with loot. And we can all marvel at screenshots of what those jedi look like.

Krayts were too easy, we had to figure this adjustment was coming
Some guns can still be Krayt enhanced, but it's not really overly necessary unless you PVP all the time.
So a +60 damage Krayt tissue is only going to "really" add +15 or so damage against a mitigate 3 player, simply becuase krayt tissues *only* add to the upper end damage and not the minimum damage, infact I will take my 2 fwg5's as an example, one is damage sliced, the other is krayt-damage sliced.
Damage sliced+powered up=118-360 Actual damage=118-214 Average damage=166
Damage sliced+powered up+krayt +60 tissue=118-463 Actual damage=118-256 Average damage=187
This krayt FWG5 is 12% better.....On average then the non-krayt ones....Its max damage is only 17% higher then the non-krayt one...
As you can see the higher your max damage goes, the more diminishing your returns are going to be....However you still can get a *higher* return from a krayt gun if you use one of the +28% minimum damage power ups, which will now be much more effective then the max power ups
Krayt guns are going to be *alot* less powerful then they are now...I would not buy them ![]()
Well, for PvE oriented players like myself, the new defense modifiers won't really factor into my gun's effectiveness like it will, as you outlined, in PvP.
Also, I'm not saying the harder to kill Krayts are a bad thing. In fact, I really welcome it because
1) Krayt based enhancements were far far too comon...also for those who are Jedi, those Krayt Pearls are much more common than they should be too.
2) It was a shame seeing small or even single person groups with pets essentially farming Krayts for items when instead they are supposed to be this incredible challenge to defeat.
Are Krayt based weapons less effective than they used to be? On the whole they are, but they still are nicer than your standard sliced gun. I'm not saying the Krayt changes are going to be bad, I just figured this was something Pistoleers should be aware of because its going to be a factor, albeit a more minor one, on weapon purchasing. So I was just giving everyone a heads up ![]()
Oh, and the guy saying weapons can't be Krayt powered up...thats just FWG5s...the other guns out there can still be Krayted, but Scatter and Launcher I believe it was had projectile feeders removed which took out a different enhancement type. My 89-309 damage,2.2 speed, 1024 durability Republic Blaster says that yes many guns can still be Krayt enhanced ![]()

The tissues have bothspeed and damage components... the combination of which does make a nice difference. If it did not, why would we be seeing such a multi-pronged effort to reduce their use? The popularity of krayted weaponsseems to have been frowned upon by the devs, and it can only be due to the fact that these weapons were very effective. Good krayt tissue, coupled with a good slice has a very favorable impact on a weapon, although the slicearguably more important.
Your last sentence about not buying these weapons is one Iagree with though. Ifyou get the tissue yourself, then make use of it, but paying a lot of money to buy them is not as attractive.Weapons degradeso rapidly today thatitwould be hard to earn back what you payedfor such a weapon before it fell apart. You'd be forced to hold that weapon for special occasions.
