I have Pistols IV yet I it says I'm not certified to use a Republic Blaster. Is this a bug and if so is there a workaround for it?

The cert for the Republic blaster does not work. However if you pick upa Post-Patch Republic Blaster you will be able to use it

I don't have the republic blaster certification either. Even with a blaster made last night I was still not certified. I checked and everyone else I checked with had the certification listed in their skills(bottom left corner that lists the certifications you do have) for me it isn't listed.

Whether or not you have the certification, you can use a post-patch crafted Republic Blaster.

A few posters have made claims that those without the cert do 1/2 the damage as those who do, but the majority opinion is that this is not the case.

No one to my knowledge knows how the cert is obtained (why some people have it and others do not).

I use one. I see the certification in my weapons certification box, but when I /examine the blaster, it still says I'm not certified to use it. But when I equip it, I do not get the "you aren't certified to use this weapon" message and I do normal damage with it.
