Thread: A question about Fan Shot?
When I use it it effects only one target. How do I get it to hit multiple MOB's in a radius? When i used flame cone it did it automatically. But not with fan shot?
Thanks
The first shot will only damage your look-at target. It will aggro all the other MoBs in the cone. Each subequent shot will deal damage.
i finally see how fan shot works now..i was using only one1 target..i mean...the description of the skill says can hit a SINGLE target multiple times...shouldnt that be hits MULTIPLE targets a single time? so now that i've seen fan shot work..I LOOOOVE IT..LOL has anyone noticed that Stopping shot has 1/2 the speed...my republic blaster is 2.1 speed..i have timestamp on my chat..so when i use fan shot it fires every 2seconds..yet stopping shot is almost 5seconds ? and still same damage...hmm...and overcharge is 2sec. double tab i dont see 2 seperate impacts in combat chat...still bugs?
Okay, so it only uses the cone effect on the SECOND and following shots when you initiate combat? So that means that, if you use fanshot on a large group of NPCs, they will all go into combat, but only the initially targeted NPC will be damaged?
Enlightenment! :relieved:
From my experience you hit targets in cone area one all shots including first.
Answer:
If the creatures are already aggro and engaging or attempting to engage in combat, the cone effect will hit and damage all targets.
Any creatures that are not aggroed on anything will show as being hit by the cone in the combat window, but will not take damage until the next shot.
Examples:
1) You begin combat with fanshot on a bunch of nuna's just sitting around doing nothing. You'll damage, and likely kill, the main target, and the combat window will say to nailed all the others, but in fact, you will only have damaged the initial target. Your second and subsequent volleys will damage all existing aggroed targets in the cone.
2) A bunch of blurrgs are engaged with your pet or another player, you open fire with fanshot, all are damaged with the first shot.
So, basic rule is, if the creature is in combat mode with anything, fanshot's cone effect will actually damage it. If it is not engaged in combat, the cone attack will aggro it the first time then damage it thereafter. Your main target will always, however, be damaged.
This is also why you never damage lairs with fanshot unless you directly target them. Lairs can never enter combat mode, thus, can never be hurt by cone damage...only by direct targeting even though the combat window might report differently.
