Thread: Do some of our attacks have a chance to inflict a bleed??

I was fighting Stormies today and all i was using was pistolwhip, stopping shot and gut shot.

Every few STs would start to bleed for some reason...

I never used a healthshot so I'm wondering if any of the above mentioned specials has a chance to inflict a bleed?

I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.
I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.
I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart.

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess, I would say probobly gut shot.

Hmmmm ... not that I know of. This sounds weird. Can you test again and verify this? Anyone else notice a bleed added to any of our specials? I haven't.

I saw the same thing, I was the only one attacking them and sometimes the NPCs just started bleeding. I was using fan shot and stopping shot...

Its funny that I came across this post about NPCs mysteriously bleeding from an attack since this happened to myself today.

I was actually using my VKs and I noticed just before I killed an ST that it had a bleed on it. There are no TKA bleed specials so I don't know how it happened.

Hey gald to see this post got pulled from the depths. Thanks Phil

I most certainly will test this further. I'll report my findings sometime this week.

maybe there is just a chance to inflict a random bleed with any weapon in the game. I mean, they are getting hit and in most cases, they get hit hard. They get wounded to....so It may not actually be a specific attack that's causing a bleed but a small chance they start bleeding due to taking massive wounds and damage. I'm inclined to believe that if a specific special was causing a bleed, you would see it happen more often.

Even though pistols are not a Counterattack weapon, I believe there to be a small base chance of Counterattack with any weapon (at least Dodge definitely works that way, even when holding a non-Dodge weapon).

I also think Counterattacking a bleed attack puts a bleed on the original shooter.

This might be the answer ... Tullius is right that there is a small base chance to Counterattack with any weapon. Watch your combat spam the next time you see the bleeds popping up.
