Thread: Can -I- solo a krayt?

I have a template of Master Pistoleer, Master Smuggler and 4000 CM. I was wondering if it was possible for me to solo many krayts with my low damage output? Also, does anyone know if my new daze tactics from smuggler are usefull in soloing? (ex. Using them in between stopping shots to keep them permanently rooted)... And can my CM heals keep up at all? I really wanna be able to solo these things, as drop rates for delicate triggers seem to be pretty good for them.

I think you would have more success as CM xxx4 - electolyte drain > krayts so I hear...

I got CM 4xx4 for heals and Thyroid Rupture. Just tried out Electrolye Drain for the first time on a krayt an hour ago and yes. Electrolyte Drain > Krayts..

In my experience, when soloing...


Electrolyte Drain > All Melee, including cl500 Jedi Sentinel mobs that guard the enclaves on Yavin


Improved Thyroid Rupture/Improved Shock/Intimidate > All Ranged, all the way up to CL93 Death Watch Overlord and in PvP.


Both of those > Jedi in PvP.


I consider my template 1.5x more powerful then a Jedi.

MPistols/MCM/Doc x/x/x/4 and FS Ranged Speed.


I've played a "Combat Doctor/Pistoleer" since I first started SWG back in 2003 with different variations as to what lines of CM and Doc I took.


The CU freed up quite a few skillpoints (dropping Master Medic and the crafting line, and I could drop the Novice Brawler that I had for intimidate) so with Respec I could master CM and get a line of Doc, so I went for the buffline.


It seems to be quite a popular template now, its just one of those templates that makes sense really, I guess a lot of players that went MCM and mastered a ranged prof wondered what to do with the leftover SP and went for the buffline in Doc.

When i started in 2003 i first became a Master Ranger and later became what a Master Bounty Hunter, in the beginning we needed Master Scout and Master Marksman as Bounty Hunters so i didnt have enough SP to master Pistoleer so i remember i went Pistoleer 0043...

When they let go of Master Scout first thing i Mastered 2 days after was Pistoleer and thats what i wanted to be.. Normally just used my pistols but before the "weapon delay" was added Live i loved to apply States with my Carbine and then finish them off with my Pistol!

Anyway, point is that im a Master Bounty Hunter, Master Pistoleer and will always keep those two.. I retired my long hunting carrire with the CU cause i dont really like it that much! But im back from "quitting" for 3 months and thought id drop Master Marksman and pick up Smuggler 4000 as i always wanted to do but pre-CU i couldnt without dropping MBH!

But i might switch over from Smuggler to CM cause healing is pritty big part of the game thise days.. I normally never used Armor or Heals so its one of the things that was forced on me with the CU i didnt like to much

Well, you get a choice with CM, 4/x/x/x for healing, extra defence or x/x/x/4 for Drain and Rupture, more offence.


In this case, a good offence can very well be the best defence.

I was thinking about Drain and Rupture...
My playstyle is more hit hard and run if it dosnt go to plan

But could you tell me what Drain and Rupture acually does? Im not to imformed about the CU since i just got back..

Improved Electrolyte Drain is a movement speed debuff. Put that on any melee mob and you can kite with impunity for two minutes, at which time you can use stopping shot to reapply it and repeat.


Improved Thyroid Drain reduces combat speed by 40 points, not sure what the real numbers are, but it's the opposite of the Doctor Speed buff. Combined with 20% damage reduction from Intimidate (which Improved Shock from the Bio line helps stick with its debuff to state resists) this adds up to around 50-60% reduction in attack damage which is around the mark of Pre-CU intimidate, and we all know how useful that was.

Lol from the sounds of it, I can do the same effects of thyroid rupture and electrolyte drain (or whatever they're called) with my moves from smuggler... Low Blow will reduce combat speed by 40 I think, and Restraining Shot snares them for 25 seconds I think, but with my new concussion shot and panic shot, I can "freeze" them, while I wait for my stopping shot to recharge... It sounds like 0004 CM would just be a bit redundant.

You can maybe solo a Juve Krayt but other then that I'm not really sure. MSmugglers root isnt as good as i thought it was.
