Thread: tried reading stickies, still confused

So I've read througha lot of the stickied material, and I've learned a lot about SAC being extremely important, but I'm still confused about ACTION and how to keep it

I typically use body shot and quickdraw in alternation and run out of action very quickly. When in a hunting group, I'll notice I'm the only one that's ever out of action. Is this just a downside of being a pistoleer? cuz it sucks. Being pistoleer with CH is bad enough since i can't further improve my stats, but not having action BLOWS, since i can never kill a single target near my own CL (with using a high end pet) without compeltely draining all of my action

i've been using SAC PUPs (reinforced stocks i believe - don't know the stats on these rght now) and food buffs (teltier noodles +100 action regen), but i'm guessing that i could be using better items than these.

Can anyone give me some good advice how to keep my action going that i can do on my own (i.e., not buffs)

PS - i just upgraded to a nice 67 SAC FWG5 which helped a lot (old one was 84 LOL), but it's still a problem that could be improved upon.

I think you've listed all of the things you can do to help action regen. My suggestion would be to make ranged attack your default. By doing this your character will automatically shoot ranged shot as long as you don't fire a special. This attack takes very little action and with the food you'll see your action regening fairly quickly. Rinse, lather, repeat. To make ranged shot (or improved ranged shot, can't remember) your default attack you need to open ctrl+a and pull the ability to your task bar. Once on the task bar hold ctrl and left click on ranged attack. After doing this you should see a little check mark in the lower left corner. Your now set!

i actually can't use default attacks. i always end up shooting wheni don't want to. i do have the ranged attack on my toolbar though, and i certainly do use it when my action gets low.

a low SAC gun ( which you have ) is key. try using Accargam and booster blue instead of noodles. shorter duration but better results. Just food up on your way in, so to speak.

I'd suggest booster blue and blob candy for quicker regen. This with a 65ish sac pistol and a sac pup and you should nearly never run out of action, especially because your speed will be relatively low due to points tied up in CH.

Since you are discussing hte spamming macros, Do you know of an easier way to stop the macro from running than /dump?

I've tried a few different things and so far the best that works for me is to type /dump in my textbar and when I start to get low hit enter. I was using a long but non-repeating macro to spam shots but I always forget to restart it. After someone yells at me for not helping I realise I'm not shooting. (EDITED: No I'm not "AFK" fighting, I'm usually just preoccupied with SL stuff)

A second question/problem I have is that my macro seems to get buggered up sometimes. I assume it is something to do with cooldown/warmup and the fact that my macros timing is cycling off a bit. Many times it ends up in me running around not being able to do anything even afterI /dump the macro. (EDITED: Could also be partially due to the fact that im screwing around with SL stuff druing the battle)

As far as the OP. Once I got my hands on a low sac gun, added a pup and eat some blobcandy and caffine, I don't seem to have any problems with maintaing my action indeffinetly. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. I'm not shooting fast enough. I shoot as fast as my finger can pull the trigger. Maybe we should have BS release a workout video for index fingers.

I use modal chat, there is a guide on how to set it up in my sig.

I have a macro that does /dump and I bound it to a key.

I have one key for my quickdraw/bodyshot macro, one key for /dump and one key for ranged shot spamming.

I too get the messed up cooldown timers bug, hitting specials a few times clears it but it is really annoying.

I use a quickdraw and body shot spamming macro when I have some action, when it eventually runs out I switch to a range shot spamming macro and let it regen.

Once it is back up again I switch to the quickdraw/bodyshot one again and repeat as necessary.

ya, I have a /dump macro that I keep hotkeyed, I've also named the macro " D" so even if I'm on a toolpane where I don't have the dump macro hotkeyed it's as simple as "/m d"

But realisticaly you don't need to run a looped macro.

Just make a macro that is /quick;/pause 1;/bodyS; and hotkey body.

once it's fired and the body icon is "recharging" run the 2shot macro again. Since the macro is only 2 moves long you can interupt it at anytime just by inputting a command. IE yer low on health and you just started the 2shot macro, "quick" is firing and "body" has just been queued. By hitting bactashot you knock "body" out of queue and replace it with bacta. No dump, no disruptions and as soon as the bacta fires yer back into the swing of things.

Of course I like this way best as I've bound the 2shot macro to a mouse button. I could see how it could be a hassle to be going back to the keyboard every 3 seconds.

What I wish for is a way to dump individual macros w/o dumping them all. /dumpNAME for instance.

Moves work in twos, so what you want is /quick; bodyS; pause 3

Oh yes, if that was possible.... I would be so happy.

i've gotten some good advice on the foods here, i've started to check them out in-game. AND, what a convenient Frday Feature, cuz I was getting confused about filling and stacking.

However, what about spices? For example, i see that neutron pixie adds 20% to action regen. I assume this means it converts my regen value to 120% of what it normally is? I remember something about spices making one sick though, does that still occur? What should I look out for?

Use Neutron pixy if you dont have medic skills, if you do have medic skills use Booster Blue(+20% max health, -20% health regen, +20% action regem +20% mind regen), Neutron does add 20% regen rate on action but -20 on your mind, so 120% total, you are correct, the downer you refer to accurs after 15 minutes, and lasts for 30 seconds and all you stats are reduced by -20% during that time. However, as long as you pay attention and plan ahead the downers usually wont hurt you.
