Thread: Melee defense 1 knockdown does it knockdown *every* time?
no it doesnt work every time. It depends on what you fight.The higher level things with 12,500 hps and good resist ive had resist it 8 times in a row and after i cloned i went back and tried again and got several resists again. That is where armor saves your life is when knockdown fails and they hit you and armor absorbs enough to buy you time for more knockdowns.

In all honesty, I am very impressed with how they nerfed this. It scales well, and is still useful...but made so that it can be very dangerous, and "resisted" a lot by high level mobs/NPCs. I've died several times trying to do it to nightsisters, etc. As a regular XP type situation where you might get an add that aggros, it's still useful to knock it down so someone can get on it, or put a pet on it. Pretty amazed they got it right the first time.
I was just going to post a question about the special abilities tree when I came acrros this thread.
Should it basically be the last line to trian? Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't us marksman types be avoiding melee encounters whenever possible? If one were dueling say a fencer or pikeman, shouldn't we be running to keep out of melee range??
No, it doesn't work everytime. and the maximum range is 7 meters.
