I use a DX2 and FWG5 depending on the enemy, both are great guns.
I've been under the impression that all pistols (DX2 included) are AR0 except for the SR Combat pistol which is AR 1. Having an AR 2 pistol would seem rather silly to me.
We'll know for sure after the mega-patch.
Sounds like your source is just looking up pistol stats from the strategy guide which is very, very wrong and outdated.
DX2 has AR > 0, but like everything we don't know if it's a bug or intentional, like the T21 having AR 0 instead of AR 3, mabari and tantel armor resisting everything like composite, etc..
