can pistoleers hold their own in pvp? also what pvp attacks do they have?

well they have good defense , im pistoleer+swordsman both master , and with geonosian sonic gun they work in pvp , if the enemy doesnt have stun defence armor though...U can knockdown the enemy with stopping shot or pistol melee defence 2 , unless he has defence against knockdown..

unless you got some really ill krayt pistols , just abotu anybody whos either a doctor, or can target your mind, and any body withe defense stacking template will beat you becasue you can only target the health pool or random poolls, and can not cap out on speed on your specials unless oyu haev an absurdly fast gun, even at master (like a 1.2 speed). If you want to be a serius pistol pvp user, you need to stack defenses with TKA and fencer, and then switch to a 1h sword hit center of balance, and switch back to your pistol, and you will be damn near unhittable, but your damage is still easily healable due to only being able to target the health pool. Bhpistol2/master pistoleer dablers can avoid thes problem by using eye shot to target the mind, but thats still a bh special not a pistoleer special, even though it seems to work best with a geo (certs for pistoleer) since only serius pvp'edrs run with th expensive stun armor. If they got stun armor, they probaly got 80% or better base resists too, so your probably SOL and wont do more than about 50 damage tops with your best krayt guns (unless you got something sick like my 500+ guns). Short of it is, on our own, we suck. so your gonna have to dabble to be good at pvp with pistoleer , and pistoleer is about worthless until master when you finally get SOME speed (but still not enough to cap specials)

HAHHAHAHAHAHHA. For about 2 weeks I had a krayt geo pistol and pvp was viable with a pistol, then suddenly people wisened up and started getting stun chestplates.

not unless ur master pistoler 0/0/4/0,to tell u right now pistoler jsut has good defenses that is it. I was master for a while and it sucks.k Rifles are a lot better,shoots faster and stronger

Stopping shot doesn't knockdown, niether does Pistol Melee defense 2. Pistol Melee defense 1 is our only knockdown.

The only way to be remotely good at PvP is to have a really good geo blaster, but most people have stun armor these days. Also, if you really want to be good in PvP with Pistoleer, you have to get Master Pistoleer and BH pistols 4.

Your first paragraph is correct. The statement that you made about pistoleers being horrible in pvp, some people shouldn't wield a pistol.....ever......

If a pistoleer can solo a turret one on one and an AT-ST one on one.......and any other aggro for that matter (minus Krayts and large kimos of course)........can solo the geo caves.......can solo the tuskan bunker.......can single handedly kill all of the spawns around an imperial faction base including the AT-ST on his/her own.......can kill just about anyone in pvp except for most of those melee stackers.......

I think that everyone that cries about pistoleer being severely broken is correct, it is a class with a lot of broken specials. What bugs me is that everyone still calls it useless and shrugs it off, if people only knew what a true pistoleer can do on his/her own. I will admit that I have done all of the feats listed above while being buffed and wearing some really nice armor (87% base sliced) and of course sporting the latest and greatest in pistol technology, it is mostly the gear selection that you use that ultimately decides whether or not you can pvp and hang with the top dogs. If I empty my inv of all of my cool toys, my broken class gets me knowhere. Give me my 400 dmg DX2 and my janta buff packs and I can really kick some ass. Stopping shot / fan shot / gut shot / pistol whip / andmy +105dodge are all that I need to take anything on, the rest of our broken specials will be a godsend when they do work.

If you don't have the good gear, then this class is not likely to succeed in pvp. If you take the time to gather some cool toys for your gun toting gunfighter, you will surprise the living heck out of your enemy when you single handedly take on his whole entire faction base on your own and come out on top

Veehawk, the reason you can do everything you say you can is because you are not a pistoleer, you're a doctor. A doctor plus any combat can solo anything in the game, clear all dungeons up to and including geo caves on his own and defeat any non-defence stacked player one on one. Bottom line.

Can you explain this to me? Arent we soppose to de the gunfighters, with near unmatched speed...

Order of importance:

1) Fix all specials (working specials means you can really judge the skill modifiers)

2) Fix Speed + Accuracy (Combat Balance)

3) Everything else in the game

to sum it up we get awsome def and dodge but we cant hit jack and unless you have a goe if you do hit its not for much damage. So yes pistoleer is good in pvp if your only useing it for Def. To win at PvP you will need a melee prof like TKa or Fencer or do BH 3040 for mind hit and speed cap. Or dare I say rifleman.

That's part the point. Some people need to take the time to gather good gear. Personally I think I can hold my own in PVP. But, I have 2-0-4-0 BH as well. I even got WS on one of my Alt's so I can work on my own weapons and get them to my liking. With my gear, I have surprised a lot of ppl. I have taken down MBH's, Carbs, and even a few high lvl initiate jedi's with ease. I'm not bragging, but I'm telling you, the key to being good at PvP is not just the class of char. It's part Gear, part, Class, part buffs (doc, musician, dancer, and spice), part, skill mods (via clothing attachments, bio clothes, and or armor attachments), and mostly knowing how to use the specials in that/those classes.

I got sick and tired early on of a particular TKM kicking my butt. So I built up my char best I can. Now I can take out a TKM 80% of the time (not counting the times I get dizzy/kd'd and get nabbed before I can get up) LOL.

IMO pistoleer has it's place in PVP and does fine considering a lot of our specials are broken or just not worth even having.
