Thread: double tap = double crap?

OK, i'm seriously let down by my first pistoleer skill. It hits random HAM and doens't come close to the damage of Healthshot2. I hope fanshot is WAY better than this...? Or is it just me?

regarding fanshot , it is easily the best special us pistoleers get . it has a decent damage multiplier , delay mod is good and best of all it is a cone attack . apart from fanshot the only other worthwhile specials are healthshot 2 and pistol melle defence 1 . stopping shot is only worthwhile for a master pistoleer if they have speed skill tapes , bh pistol mods or a pistol faster then 1.2 speed .

LOL great title yeah stopping shot is a great special, fan shot is awesome Actually they might have changed stopping shot since I was a pistoleer.. but fan shot is definitely awesome

You should really be using Kip Up Shot from Marksman if you want to use a random HAM special for some reason, but really Health Shot 2 is the primary special you'll be using for the rest of your pistol totin' life (until something changes, anyway).


I've actually heard that Health Shot 1 has a better DPS at your level, so you should experiment with it.


EDIT: and yes, "double crap" doesn't begin to describe my dissatisfaction with this special

actually, i'd suggest that you use healthshot1. use that DPS website, you'll probably find that healthshot1 will give you better results for awhile.

Most damaging though. Depending on your situation it can be the best pistol shot, but for me, I prefer a pool specific attack or an AOE. Last Ditch is great for single targets, but you still have random pool dmg.

It is amazing how fast you can spam HS1! Use that until you get some good speed mods and/or accuracy. I have FanShot, but I still use my HS1, unless I am in Fort Tusken, with outer melees tanking, then I have fun with Fanshot!

Speaking of Double-tap, I had an idea about it earlier today as I was playing SWG...


Okay, so Riflemen probably shouldn't be able to shoot as fast as a Pistoleer. At least, not at the high end. At the low end, sure. So instead of Double-tap being a crappy special, I think it should be a passive ability like Damage Mitigation. It's end result? It lowers your speed cap. Say everyone gets stuck with a speed cap of 2.0 to start. Carbineers can get that down to, oh, 1.5 with a similar ability, and we can lower it to 1.0 once we get Double-Tap. Anyone agree?

i agree


stopping shot has the same delay as last ditch

no one uses stopping shot because fanshot has a much lower delay, therefore higher dps

last ditch is only useful till the stun sticks, or when your target is lying on his back after a good pistol whip to the head

Nice idea. Hopefully we get something at least as good as this with the Combat Balance Publish

thanks for the info, i just got stopping shot and guess what, I'M STILL USING heathshot1/2. Fanshot better be worth it or i'm dropping this tree for my Bounty Hunter pistol tree.
