Thread: Let-down on Master Pistoleer

I've recently achieved Master Pistoleer, boasting and gloating while my guildmates chuckled under their breath. I've noticed that not many are carrying the Pistoleer profession very long, and I think I've discovered the reason why.
I went hunting with some of my guildies through the planet Dathomir. Our plan was to grind the Nightsisters as far as we could, to help our guild grow in strength before we focused back on our guild's numbers. As a Pistoleer, I couldn't find a weapon that could deal enough (if any) damage to Night Sister Elders, Sentinels, Protectors, and ... well, just about any Night Sister Entity. They have 100% resistance in all pistol based weaponry. And hey... Why not change the name on that Launcher Pistol... Lets change it to "Blast Weapon that Pistoleer's Can't Use." BW-PCU does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
Eventually, I decided to flavor the Pistoleer profession up a bit, by completing the Pistol Tree in the Bounty Hunter profession. The Scatter Pistol I thought was definitely going to deal some serious damage to the Night Sisters, but yet again. I sit idley by as my weapons, hit, but deal no damage to the Night Sisters. Now whenever I venture out to the Dathomir areas, I carry a Striker Pistol, crafted for speed, just so I can deal status effects, long enough for me to escape out of range.
Are there any weapons, skills, or at least defense penetrating abilities in the works to improve this seriously weak and nearly unuseful profession? If no... then I really enjoyed the time that I've had on sony'screation of the Star Wars MMORPG.

what are they weak too? i remember i killed some NS that had 100% in everything except heat and something else...the FWG5 i think its called isnt AP but she was AP 1 or 2...i still got 200 per hit and she went down fast... you have to find the weapon the npc is weak too...AP doesnt work if they are vulnarable(?) to the dmg type

Dont worry man where getting fixed soon (july i think) but if you want a good gun get a DX-2 with its acid damage go down to the Death watch bunker on endor with alot of friends and try and loot the DE-10 Schematic and barrel and have your servers best weapon smith create it, like i did.
(i said get a DX-2 because Death watch people are weak to acid)
My DE-10 is speed 3.2
315 max damage then got it sliced and now its
400 max damage throw a powerup on that its 523 (or 543 dont rember) and if you want drop comando and go up the Smuggler row and get those moves its pretty cool.
Hopefully you get a good DE-10 that you could kill night sisters with.

I can't say enough good things about just going out and getting novice commando just for the launcher pistol, that extra damage type at your disposal is VERY handy, plus at it's base stats of something like 70-205 isn't bad, so it's deffinately one of the top 3 pistols in the game for PvE

For Nightsisters, you need a Republic(Energy) or a Striker(Kinetic) depending on what kind they are. Yes they have 100% to anything else we can throw at em.
Frankly, I didn't feel anywhere near as effective in combat until I picked up some skill tapes for extra speed, accuracy and dodge along with some decent pistols. However, I love pistols, and even went back to Master Pistoleer just because it suited me best.

DE-10 is just energy AP1 with better damage and slower speed. At speed cap from BH+Pistoleer that you have you should be all set with speed though.
But what I am getting at is if a republic blaster/SR combat pistol can not do the job why would the DE-10 be all that much better?
If you were going just for damage types why would you do BH? BH gets AP1 acid, just like the DX2. No difference really, and you have to master scout and marksman to get it.
Now you can do commando by just doing the first line of Brawler and master marskman and get an entire new damage type. But AP0 blast isn't exactly a god send.
I would just do Master Pistoleer Mastor Smuggler and add in a Melee profession like Swordsman at 2/4/4/2 or somehting similar. Swordsman grabs you some nice close range fighting and a AP2 high blast damage weapon.
