the tactics you need are the same for every other profession. get composite/ubese, get the right weapons, stack the best profession, and you're set.

Underline the word stack. I'm a little out of date, but the last I heard Pistoleers start off great but once you and your none pistoleer mates start hitting the speed cap (I think thats about +50 Pistol Speed), and they keep getting better and better specials, pistoleers get left behind. So you need to stack with another proffession to get some working specials.PistoleerHunters have great moves, and Pistoleer Smugglers are pretty damn usefull for all sorts of reasons. On the other hand you can stack with Fencer and become nearly untouchable on defense.
But like I say, I may be (and hope I am) out of date with Pistoleer Issues.

speed cap is based on the weapon you're using, technically at 100 it doesn't matter what the speed is (say hello to bounty hunters and of all things, rifleman).
Key problems for pistoleer: Accuracy, Defense (we get +5 ranged only +45 melee), speed (it's abysmal compared to the supposedly "slow" Rifleman), and all our higher level specials are redundant vanilla HAM shots that are easily beaten in terms of damage per second (and the actual HAM costs) by lower level specials like HealthShot2 and the Kip shots...oh right and our master level specials are busted. So...any questions?

no, that's pretty much right. speed cap is arbitrarily at +100, but you'll usually cap long before that.
pistoleer hasn't changed much since launch. we've got a few new weapons and a few moves have been nerfed. we also got our defenses increased at one point. but fundamentally we're the same we've always been. we've got the same issues we've always had.

Smuggler specials are good if you have the speed and Master pistoleer. However, Im going to trade those points for the fencers stack. I like to pvp. Im gonna hit your Joe Rifle Fencer with a rifle stun and go up and intimidate them. Im hoping the latest info on bleed stacking pans out. If it does Im going to bleed them silly and health shot them with my dx2 , it would be so satisfying to woop a good pvper without using a ton of rifle to do it..
Most good ones seem to be brandied and entertainer buffed with canape so they are mind heavy. I see a lot of great pvpers that dont waste the skill points on novice medic and instead take the tka med route. I can't wait to get my template back to where it was with some modifications so I can pvp again.
