Face it, pistoleer sucks right now. However, I have have the feeling that pistoleer just might end up being a FOTM after the combat balance. Rifleman are going to get nerfed badly. They will run slower with thier rifles in hand and they will fire a lot slower, headshots won't always hit the mind pool, and they may loose a lot of accuracy.
But pistoleer is getting duel weild and many of the weapons are going to be revamped. I wouldn't be suprised to see the DL-44 become a decent damage AP2 weapon, along with some buffs to other pistols. If your specials are fixed and you get some state affects instead of all this random HAM reduntant and broken trash, you may find yourselves doing decent damage for a change. Double tap should do damage to mind and health, same as combo for tka and scatter for fencer. Combine all this with your defenses, different damage types, and speed boost you're likey to get, pistoleer just might be a good profession after a year of being useless. Just imagine if you got a dizzy state special, combine that with (a working) PMD2.

Hmmm all sounds good but I thought that Dual Wield for Pistoleers and Fencers was a post-JTL thing... Isn't that what the Devs said? Please correct me if I am wrong...

I think pistoleer will be better after the revamp, but I can't help but have this dull nagging feeling in the back fo my mind that rather than "balancing" things, everything else will be just nerfed down to pistoleer dps.

Problem I see:
If dual wield is not included in the CB and they balance us to the other professions then we'll be overpowered once we get DW, and everyone cries for a nerf.
If they balance us considering DW but not giving it to us, we'll still be unbalanced after the CB...
Both sucks...

Dual wield will probably not make us more powerful, neccessarily. It'll probably be a tradeoff that some people decide to use based upon playstyle. For example, 1/2 accuracy but 2x shots (2 pistols).
I do have a good feeling about the CB. We seem like one of the only things in the game that's not getting nerfed

I thought CB was after JTL anyway, including the DW'ing of pistols.
And a good point is made above about the dual wield 1/2'ing your accuracy, but perhaps yielding more dmg and shots fired.
Either way, looking forward to some changes.

Combat Balance is Publish 11, right before JTL. That is, unless it gets pushed back again.......

If everything is nerfed down to pistols DPS, that is still good for us.
However, I hope that they will bring up pistols speed, maybe even move our speed cap up. This may cause some un-balance, doing the same damage as beforebut having vastly superior speed. However,we are already un-balanced the other way, so I think that would bring us back to normal.
All in all, I think the CB followed by the addition of dual-wield may be the light at the end of the tunnel for all pistoleers. Either it will be a train, or an opening. Timecan only tell.
