rodians have really good action and secondary action stats so i would suggest being one of them

i've only been a zabrak though so i'm not really speaking from experience

Human is good for anything, so pick Human and if you don't want a human, then figure out what race would be best.

and if you plan on being/staying imperial human is best bet for faction perks. All other races get penalized.

Humans have the best stat caps right now. You can get 1100 in mind/willpower/focus, which is very important if you want to PvP.

They might fix the stat caps for humans someday, though. (shrug)

But we don't get any real perks...

Zabrak and Humans are best for combat, to tell you the truth. The Rodian advantage with high Action is negated after buffs, and we don't know if that will ever change.

Rodians make great Pistoleers for the action stats.. this Human stat controversy is going to die down when:

Mind damage isn't such a big deal

Doctor buffs getadjusted (Thunderheart has said the multi-thousand point buffs are on the way out).

Damage from HAM costs is no longer healable. You are going to want well-rounded secondary stats, not strictly Focus/Willpower.

Zabraks are all around great because they get built in state defense and have equilibrium. If you don't PvP or wear armor, wookiee (yes, wookiee) is the best species bar none. Don't let the hype fool you, they aren't bad at everything.

I picked Human to be Imperial, and the stats seem to be pretty decent.You can really play anything as anything and be just fine, but some species do have an edge over others. Bothans get bonuses to action and mind stats, so I'm surprised they aren't used more by combat oriented medics.
