So I've had just the Novice Pistoller box while grinding away at Smuggler. I noticed that one set of Pistoleer boxes uses a different kind of XP of which I had enough to get the first box. So now I am a 0001 Pistoleer and a 0434 Smuggeler (with a few pistols under 2.0 for speed) and I get jumped by a local mob. Before I even know it my Action is down to nothing and I get incapped. I have since gone to see an ID and have raised my action and secondary stats and that works better, but I still use it up faster than I did before and find that I need a food or a spice buff to face mobs that used to be NP for me. Personally running around buffed to check on harvesters and the like are a complete pain to me, plus most PvE scenarios are no chalenge when fully buffed. As I fill my other Pistoleer boxes will I be able to keep my action bar more stable? For now when I'm attacked by mobs I have to use my Unarmed IV skills to keep my action from being gone in 30 seconds.

No, your HAM doesn't change, you need to raise your action stats more, or get buffed.
BUT one thing you mention is getting Pistoleer xxx1. Something you may not know - that ability is a Melee Knockdown. Smack em with it and you can get 1-2 (or more if you have high speed) hits in and probably 30 meters away before they stand back up and come after you.

There are differnent strategies that you need to use, one while buffed and another when not buffed. Some people make is so there character is always buffed so they put all extra stats into the mind but I personally like to fight both unbuffed and buffed.
While buffed you can pretty much just spam specials away.. taking brandy and canape to get rid of losing mind when spamming specials.
When not buffed you will need to be careful and maybe pick up novice medic for stim b's. You may have to do a lot of stiming of yourself but you can fight good unbuffed. As a pistoleer the action will go down the most compared to others so you will need to always watch the action and make sure you dont just spam specials. Use intimidate from novice brawler to lower the damage put out by target.

Also buy weapons that have lower ham costs.. this may mean taking a few points off of the damage but I try to get low ham cost weapons for fighting unbuffed.

I have been trying to find low HAM weapons. I think I may just have to talk to a few WS and request a special order. Then I can keep my low HAM pistols for unbuffed and use the damage one when buffed. I have been using a lot of specials, I'm going to have to strike a balance there. It is a good thing I'm a Smuggler and can have a supply of Shadowpaw and Pixie for emergencies. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, I realize that HAM doesn't change unless you go to an ID, but I was hoping that as you leveled Pistoleer your HAM costs would lower. I do like the PMD, I use it runaway use Smuggler LowBlow until they get next to me again. I also have two AA for pistol accuracy while moving, which help me with my "Hit and Run" tactic.
