My template is:

BH 0040

Smuggler 0040

Master Pistoleer


I can't find a Use for the Master Specials

same with me, i only got master pistoleer in the hopes that dual weild will be master only or alot better at master.

I just use fanshot, health shot 2, and smuggler's specials.

you have almost the same template as me. but youre lucky, you arent tempted to take invest 3 which makes you a bar above me. here is why:

imagine your character as this, instead of unarmed-4 you have 1handed-4. and instead of smuggler 0040 you have fencer 0400. You also have more skill points which you declined to mention, giving you fencer0430 which is crazy defense when stacked with pistol defense.


master pistol = ranged mitigation 3, the fencer 0030 gives melee mitigation 2, you are super past the dodge cap at like 180 or something (125cap), and youll have like 100 defense vs knockdown, like 80 vs posture down, 40 blind, 40 dizzy, 10intimidate.


that whole row of high state resist you can have instead of smuggler. and torso shot and eye shot imo are better than last ditch anyways in pvp or pve. with master pistol, all those state resists are like half of what i listed above, and NO melee mitigation andNO capped dodge

Dirty Fighting gives you melee mitigation 1 and FD. FD=Never dieing in PvE.

This is very true. Ill go do a geo run or a ns hunt and I dont die.

Mitigation for melee only matters if you have a melee weapon equiped. So unless you plan on USING a melee weapon dont factor that into your template.

I actually thought about the fencer/pistoleer template but in the end decided to pass on it ... I rarely pvp and I find that, as it is, I am more than ready to deal with pve. I think I could probably hold my own in pvp as well. Thanks for the tips though.


The template is nearly done and I find I often start combat with the Low Blow KD followed by effects (bleeds, flames, etc..) and then as they get up I hit them with the panic shot and then drill torso Shot until they are done. In pvp I'd be very similar but use eye shot. Strangely I find that except for the bleed shot in pve or occaisionally the pistol whip 2 (which I think may not work) I rarely use any pistol specials at all. Its all BH and Smuggler specials.


The extra few points by the way are sunk into hunting but thinking about moving them over BH Investigation for giggles.
