Thread: Which pistol to use?

I've always gone with my trusty damage sliced dx2 with a nice republic blaster for acid resistant stuff. However, I have recently aquired the bh pistol and smuggler pistol tree and am enjoying the speed, accuracy and loving the specials. What I want to know is whether a scatter pistol would be better than the dx2 as it is acid damage too.
As a side issue I am mp, bh, xx4x, sm xx4x which leaves 9 points. Which bits of this template would you give up for the remaining 15 fs points?

use the scatter or dx-2 depending on the damage. sometimes i grind with a dx-2 if its better than my current grinding scatter. they are about the same.
and you say your template has 9 skill points left, shouldnt you have 12 left? i think?
either way, only choice here is to drop smuggler. the BH and pistol are core to the template and dropping them will scrap your template. and dropping smug will give you tons of skill points to spend. throw the extra into medic. i know its not that helpful in pvp but theres not much else you can do there. you can dabble a tiny bit in brawler but no real point there

Its alot easier to get nice scatters beacuse they require only 1 krayt tissues instead of 5(?) needed for a DX-2. IM your same template and i never even carry a DX-2. For those last skillpoints, i would either pick up novice TK and a box of meditate. You wont beable to heal wounds but you can meditate off poisons faster and regen burst run and generally look cool. You could also do what i did and get investigation 3. This will give you something to do. Now that they have changed the payouts, you will have some acual end game content. Dont get cmdo, the launcher pistol is not worth it.

Yup, unfortunately it's 5 for the DX2. I'd really like to see the requirement lowered to 2 or 3 similar to most of the other pistols. Even the Geo only uses 4!
If you've got BH, find a nice scatter and go nuts. Remember to carry an assortment of pistols though for the optimal damage vulnerability.

Thanksfor the helpful advice guys. I am resigned to dropping smuggler and losing the damage mitigations plus last ditch. However it'll free up more than enough sps to fill out my fs boxes plus a few left over which I'm still undecided on. Novice medic sounds useful as doesthe idea of tk novice. Any other suggestions on this? As for the scatter pistol vs dx2 I can afford to splash out on a nice scatter so I'll probably invest in a couple. Any suggestions for decent pistol damage onnightsister rangers as one anded me my ass earlier today. With 40% kinetic resistance is the Striker pistol the way to go here or is there an alternative? Is it worth the time/effort/money getting hold of a DE-10 or is the return for the relatively high cost not worth it?

geo uses 4 powerhandlers and 1 tissue wasted on the schem. So 5 total.

lmao i grinded with a .8 342 max scatter until i capped on speed then whent to unsliced dx2 because they r cheaper
