This post is coming from a former mpistoleer, the prof I've loved the most

IMO pistoleer is the funnest profession in swg to play. However, I believe the idea of making a pistoleer pick up bh for eyeshot to survive in a fight is pretty ridiculus (although bh would be my personal preferred match with pistols). They way I see things is pistoleer is your central skillset. You should pretty much have two 'professional tracks' that you could choose from to compliment your central skillset (what you do with your pistols): smuggler and bountyhunter. Dirty fighting is pretty useless overall besides FD- there neeeds to be a nice pistol hit here for pvp or in pistoleer (so everyone can succeed in combat). Again, my personal favorite combo would be bh, but I think it is a little unfair to force those who wield a pistol to also be considered a bounty hunter.

Not meaning to flame buthave you ever taken up Dirty Fighting? I don't understand how you can say it's useless. It's got a x6 damage special w/ Stun effect, the only Ranged KD move available to pistol-wielders, Melee Damage Mitigation, and you already mentioned Feign Death.
You still think it's useless?

DF line is a lot of fun IMO. Last Ditch is a very nice shot, albeit a random HAM pool shot but the x6 modifier is great + the stun
As Ren said it has ranged KD, Melee Mitigation and one he forgot to mention but can be used effectively would be Panic Shot which is a ranged AOE Warcry. All in all the DF line compliments pistoleer nicely. The only thing its missing would be the pistol speed and accuracy mods from the BH line.

actually I have dirty fighting IV right now. I'm not saying it's not a fun tree, I'm just saying I think it could be better.

of course everything will be different with combat upgrade, so you can't even know what a good pvp hit will be until the upgrade.

IMO, dirty fighting has much more useful specials than all of Pistoleer. I rarely use any of the pistoleer specials anymore except fanshot now and again.I'll also swapPMD1 with low blow.

I don't have the Dirty Fighting line, but once the CURB goes Live, if I don't need BH for the accuracy and speed, I'd love to drop Master Marksman for Dirty Fighting.
Nice thing about my character (yeah, I'm a roleplayer) is that I can either choose to play more to his old history with Corellian Security and make him an Investigatory/criminal hunter(BH), or leave that behind and play more to his new role in the Alliance apart from the legitimate operations of CorSec (Smuggler).

My thoughts exactly. I have been thinking for a while now that if the CURB fixes our standalone speed & accuracy, I would love to be able tofree up enough skill points to be able to pick up Dirty Fighting.

Where does your name come from Fingolfin?? There was an OG player from Kauri with the same name that quit a few months back. Coincidence?
