How does a Master Pistoleer / Bounty Pistols / 4-4- Medic make a living? I see extravagantly rich pistoleers, how do they do it?

Tuskens drop good stuff, low level NS, Aaukaans (sp?) on Talus are known to drop nice attachments and are easy, or you could grab the hunting line of scout and hunt hide/meat, then again faction npc's also drop some nice stuff.

Hunting is key. Docs will pay 50CPU or more when good Dath avian meat spawns. That's always one to check (they need Dath avian for boofs)

Loot is far less reliable, but can be very profitable as well. Find a TKM buddy and go hunt the Nightsister Queen chica, or camp the Acklay.

Myself, I bought JTLS and bring in 300k in a couple hours.

There's a duty mission on Lok (Tier 4) which sends you after waves of Tier 4 Black Sunners. I kill them for about a few hours, get lots of lvl 5-10 loot, and about 50k in a credit chip. Sell the loot in Tyrena, transfer credit chip to my bank account, and it usually works up to 200k-300k.

Very nice payoffs, Ren! I wonder how that compares, on a credits-per-hour basis, with taking high-payoff missions from a mission terminal on the ground (especially if you factor in the profits from selling the organics if you harvest them). I'll have to keep track of that next time I go out hunting. It doesn't take long to destroy an entirelair as a speed-capped master pistoleer, and you don't really even need to spend money on buffs to do so(although if you're not buffed, you'll probably spend more on foods or stimpacks, so either way that needs to be factored into the net profit). A nice bonus of hunting on the ground is that you can get XP to exchange for FS skills, if you are into that(or for whatever skills you may happen to be working on). I usually don't have the patience to kill lair after lair for several hours at a time though. An hour or two is about my limit!

I also wonder how the profits compare selling loot to an NPC versus selling them on a merchant vendor...

I've never done any calculations for all of that, but I know I make more money in space than on the ground (with the exception of the occasional set of Acklay bones I've sold for several million creds). And it pays the maint bills with a little left over to buy my newest gun, y'know?

That's all I really care about.

Yeah, I hear ya Ren. It makes a huge difference in payoff depending on what kinds of mobs you hunt. You can hunt stuff that will earn you massive XP but relatively low money, or the other way around. Sometimes you can get both, if you're after something that happens to be in high demand at the time.

good way to make money is smuggler, tkm, pistoleer. that way, u can sell fp, still loot hunt and stuff. and have pistoleer for pvp. I could probably sell all the rare and cool loot in my house for like 50mil tops. maybe more, give or take a bacta tank, 25 krayt tissues, flawless pearl, premium pearl, blue rug, hologram sonsole, regular console, bubble tank, glass table, moon shape table, all the new posters/paintings, all the new schems made and unmade, my krayt DE-10, my DE-10 barrels, my schem, my jetpack parts, my BH armor etc. It keeps going and going lol.

Only thing i really spend cash on is buffs, shuttleport tickets. I have enough weapons in crates to keep me stocked for along time. Im that person who conserves lol.

Selling doc resources is very well paid and takes very little skill points investment of artisan or scout. Here's a quick list, remember that high quality stats are what pays the big bucks so always check that Overall Quality is high and so are PotentialEnergy/DecayResistance/UnitToughness:

Avian Meat (any type)

Herbivore Meat (any type)

Liquid Petrochemical Fuel Class4

Fibreplast (Tatooine)

Wild Wheat (Lokian)

Reactive Gas (any type)

Water (Talusian)

Iron (Dolovite)

Domesticated Oats (any type)

Berries (Dantooine)

If you come across any of these resources and the stats are high, get harvestingfor a few days and make yourself a nice little profit. With novice artisan or novice scout you can reap large amounts.

This is just a basic doc list so I'm sure other crafters have different requirements, just check resource sites to see what's in shift right now on your server that has high stats
