Thread: Grinding Pistoleer

Ok, the evil box spoke and now I am a Pistoleer. Yay me . I've read the threads, and it seems that the consensus is to take Baz Nitch missions and use my graul maulers to tank until I can get Fanshot, and then spam fanshot on group sof mobs to grind the xp out. Ok. I've got a nice pre-nerf FWG5, and I went to Dathomir with my mount and my graul and took the missions. Man, getting around Dath is a horrid pain. Too many mountains! But I find the lair, pull the 2 guards, bleed them both, and commence spamming bodyshot2. It takes a while to kill these things . I admit, it's not HARD xp. It just doesn't strike me as particularly fast. Are there other suggestions for a quick grind? This is my 3rd holo profession, and although it seems fairly interesting ranged combat isn't generally my cup of tea.

Thanks,

Ani

Fort Tusken is cool, enemies spawning all the freaking time and they give pretty good experience. It's a long walk from Mos Entha though. The waypoint is Tatooine -4000 6250

Yeah I was at Fort Tusken last night grinding hehe. When I get off and log back in I'll still be there. Got about 250k xp in about 1 1/2 hours so that's not to bad.

Sounds fun. Any particular tactics?

If you have tanks, then I'd say Mountain Squills on Tat. These things give very nice exp, and are vulnerable to heat (ahem FWG5). You can find nests in the wild (especially around the intellect spawn area) that will just keep spawning and spawning. Usually worth over 100k exp per lair. I leveled TKM in 4 days doing this. Since you're using pistols, it can probably go MUCH faster b/o the Heat vulnerability.

It's about halfway between Mos Entha and Mos Eisley. There's a lot of decent stuff to kill in that area. Mountain Worrts are ok exp when you're just starting to grind a profession.. only take a few hits to kill for like 2200 exp. Bocatts (NOT the diseased ones) are ok too.. but they BAF. Mtn Squills don't if you are careful. Just send pet in on one, call it back.. and only one mob will follow.

i was given this advice from a friend. get buffed go to Dant and call a pet a droid and group with it, leave it at the starport and go and do Quanker missions. at least i think thats how its spelled. at least 2000 xp per animal. and go up the tec tree first and get fan shot.

Yes, Fan shot is your friend. Before the nerfs to creature levels for non-CH, I would send in my Mountain Krevol to hit the lair, and all the spawns would aggro to my creature. Then, Spam Fan shot. I was a Master Ranger at the time, and this was a great way to get a lot of hide.

Actually here is what you do ... Get ubese armor with at least 70% resists ... get buffed and brandy will help also, go to dant. and ask if others aregrouping for solo xp. Join thier group and take quencker missions (7k's) in the same direction. You can also do pikets but there are more stressfull because the vulnerabilty type vary and so you will have to switch weapons to deal w/ them where as quecks and good FWG5 will do. You do not have fanshot and you don't need it ... if fact fanshot is only really good for ranged enemies but when you master pistoleer you can use it all you want or when you get at least 3-3-4-3. For now do this ... approach quenck lair and stay 64m away from your target /prone /healthshot 2 /peace /stand and move back so that when it bleeds and it aggro's you you only have to fight that one quencker. If you have ranged skills for supression fire it is useful ... you will see why. When it runs towards you after it bleeds the second tick do this /healthshot 1 (not HS2, HS1 is faster) /HS1 /HS1 and when it gets about 20m use suppression fire if you have it then spam HS1 until it dies ... it works fast as HS1 targets one pool. If you are buff w/ the armor I mentioned you cannot die. And the larger the group the more quecnks will spawn for you with 3K per kill. It sounds difficult and long but try it, you will be surprised how fast and easy the XP comes along. HS1 is the way to go.

Join a solo group in coronet, get sharnaff missions 12k or 13k. If you have a small pet to tank for you or a melee fighter who's leveling you'll never get hit. Masses of exp, plenty of credits and no outlay...sorted.
