(feel free to skip the rest of this post and just answer the question in the subject.
)
I assumed that I would have to get relatively close to get accurate shots but that doesn't seem to be the case. Right now I go prone and creep into the 62m range and let the Body Shot 2's fly and maybe throw in a roll shot or dive shot (threaten if its an animal). If my target gets to me I stand up (kip-up shot if possible) and just keep on shootin. My plan is to train up fencing for up close fighting but that will be later, if at all.
I see that as I train in pistols I get bonuses to shooting on the run... What am I supposed to be doing with this? Am I supposed to take off if something starts getting close and shoot while running backwards?
If any more experienced Pistoleers have and tips or tactic for me I would really apreciate it.

I chose to go for Pistoleer mainly because I'd like to rp a gunslinger-type and because I figured that most would be going for Carbines and Rifles. I know these board rarely represent the reality on the servers but is Pistoleer really the "uber" ranged weapon? Say it ain't so... I chose an Infiltrator in DAoC when it started because they were an uncommon class that was hard to play and I wanted to do something different... Well, anyone who knows anything about that game knows that that didn't exactly work out. I hope I didn't jump into the same situation here with the Pistoleer. Don't get me wrong, I don't want the pistol to be gimped or nerfed in any way, I'm just hoping that it's not gonna be the "obvious" choice that everyone and their uncle ends up using.
